One night very good, the next not so much..

I had two meals here... one was very good, the other just average (overcooked and dry). Both were "specials." The steamed clams were excellent, but the local salmon was nothing special. Outdoor tables are nicest - views of the harbor and passing tourists. Indoors is comfortable - open space without... read more

This was our first dinner in lovely Bar Harbor. Our seating had a view of the Frenchman's Bay....we were seated near the front inside the restaurant. Our food was delicious...my partner and I both had seafood...of course. He had crab cakes. I chose a more adventurous dinner. I had local Halibut with blueberry salsa...this is one of my favorite fish... More

Their celery seed salad dressing is excellent, as is the pasta Galyn. Loved the blueberry mojito and blueberry crumble. Excellent service.

A Bar Harbor tour guide recommended this location, so my wife and I took him up on it. We were not disappointed. We sat outside on the porch, and it was a great atmosphere. We had meals out at several locations in Bar Harbor, and this was probably our overall favorite place. Good eats, and reasonable prices. Get the lobster... More

We went on the most beautiful night--- perfect weather, clear skies with a beautiful view (we sat outside).the food was great- I had fresh steamers that were fantastic!! The menu Indicated what items were gluten free! There was a pretty wide selection. I settled on a salad and appetizer. The grilles cauliflower was interesting and good! My boyfriend had the... More

We've been to Galyns a number of times and have always been very pleased. Our less than wonderful experience began when we arrived. It's probably best described as a "business-like" greeting. It was not a welcoming, glad-you're-here type of greeting. We were seated upstairs, with a view of the bay. Lovely and appreciated. My husband started with mussels. No bread... More

We ate here on our last night in Bar Harbor. The meal was solid - nothing to complain about it just wasn't great. Prices were reasonable for seafood and portions more than ample. Meals were served with wild rice, fresh veg and side salad. Service was above average. We sat upstairs that had a spectacular view of the harbor.

We had a delicious dinner here last night. The Big Guy and Princess shared a prime rib dinner. I don't like prime rib but this was really good, especially with a little horse radish. The potatoes were good too. I made a meal of two signature appetizers: Squash Cakes and Crab Stuffed Mushrooms....yum. The house Malbec was nice too.

Arriving late on our first night in town, we were recommended to Galyn's because their kitchen is open later than other places. We had a very nice dinner. Portions weren't the largest but the food was good. Service was attentive and friendly. Nothing stands out as great but it was a very pleasant place to dine.

This was a very nice restaurant with prices more reasonable than what I would have thought for its ambiance. Great wines by the glass and reasonable prices on bottles also. A very enjoyable and quiet place to eat. So many places are so noisy that dinner conversation is impossible, but we were upstairs and found it very pleasant.
