Fun, Eclectic Atmosphere!!

We loved the look of this place the minute we walked in and the great food just sealed the deal. I had had some excellent chili and my wife had macaroni and cheese bites for an appetizer. Our main courses were both pulled BBQ pork. I had mine with a side of cole slaw and we both agreed it was... read more

They've got a hostess stationed out by the sidewalk as the restaurant is set way back and could easily be overlooked otherwise. Smart. She asks almost everyone who walks by if she can help them. So I bit. Table for one. Looked interesting from the outside. It was a little after one, perfect for a late lunch. At first glance... More

We usually want to eat your basic everyday food. This place in downtown Bar Harbor fit the bill. Hamburger was great, with the fries served in something that looked just like a mini-deep fryer. Good food. Mostly liked the atmosphere, which included lots of nostalgic items from an old juke box, an old Lionel Trail, old cig machine, and lots... More

This place gave an excellent first impression with welcoming lights and a creative 50s theme. It has history and a terrific atmosphere created by all the great servers. Our waiter skylar, specifically, showed great costumer service and his attitude fit with the theme of the restaurant by always being helpful and humorous. Along with the great service, the food was... More

This is such a fun place, we spend more time looking around then paying attention to the menu. It is full of vintage collectibles and décor. Really unique! And, we were both very happy with our meals, one had steak, one chicken. A little too pricey, so it's not perfect. Pleasant service!

My wife and I went in for dinner and were blown away by the ribs. They just fell off the bone. We didn't expect the ribs to be that good, not being at a BBQ joint.

Walked around Bar Harbor all morning and decided to give this place a try for an early lunch. My wife and i were intrigued by the partial car mounted to the wall above the entry way and were pleasantly surprised to see a massive collection of antiques, a working toy train running around the shelves and tons of automotive related... Tucked off a side street in Bar harbor, this restaurant is filled with an eclectic mix of 50's and 60s memorabilia. That's the real attraction. My lobster quesadilla was OK but short on lobster. Burger was also OK. Wait staff was getting broken in for the season so a little rusty but sure to improve.

Route 66 Restaurant was recommended by a fellow RV'er. It wasn't easy to find, but it was worth the search. The food was prepared well and the presentation was noteworthy. The service was very good with each subsequent visit and we went there three times. Each time we had Nikki as our waitress and she was friendly and fun! The... More
