Amazing meal

We walked in on our first night in Bar Harbor (Friday), but couldn't get in. The first reservation available was Monday at 8:45pm and we took it. We had a fabulous meal here! Drunk shrimp appetizer was so good. Lobster gnocchi was to die for. Also got cocktails which were really fun and... read more

Excellent food, ironically their meats are prepared superbly (in an area of lobster), and the waitresses are very informative and prompt. This restaurant was our best meal in Bar Harbor, especially if you're overdosed on lobster.

Came here our first night in BH based on reviews from TA. I am told you need to call ahead for a reservation, however we walked in for an early dinner and were seated immediately. Our waiter was so nice and knowledgeable and made us feel very welcome. Our appetizers and meal were spectacular. For dessert we split the blueberry... More

We eat out a lot. Not typically fancy, but we like to have a "nice" meal fairly frequently. Fathom was really a fantastic meal.

Make reservations early, popular place. Fresh and tasty food in this small, fun restaurant. Located down an alley.

Compassrose87, We are so please you enjoyed your meal at Fathom!. I would like to take a moment to clarify our location for TA readers. Although we are a tad off the beaten path - I'm not sure what alley you referred to. We are located at the corner of Cottage Street (one of the "main" streets in Bar Harbor),... More

Had the lobster gnocchi and it was amazing. Crab cake appetizer was also very good. Great selection of beer and wine. Would highly recommend if you're in Bar Harbor. Be sure to call ahead for a reservation.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I ordered the fresh catch of the day which was bluefish. I had never had it, but it was pan seared and was delicious. It was served with wheat berries which I had never had either. They were okay, but not my favorite (mainly because of the texture; however, I ate the whole thing). A... More

I started with the day's special of calamari stuffed with ground lamb. It was tasty but a bit salty. Then I had their lobster gnocchi with brown butter sauce. It was okay until I bit into a whole lemon peel slice. It was about 1inch by. 25 inch. The taste was absolutely bitter and nasty. At first I didn't know... More

Gregoryh259, I'm very sorry the Lobster Gnocchi was not acceptable. The lemon slices are indeed supposed to be in the dish and are listed as an ingredient on the menu. If they were bitter I can only assume they were not blanched correctly and I will certainly speak to my kitchen staff. My apologies. More

We've now eaten at Fathom twice and loved both meals. Menu is inventive and delicious. Favorites are the crispy kale, beet salad and lobster gnocchi.

Fathom was the culinary highlight of our Bar Harbor trip. From beginning to end, the meal was fabulous. The crab cakes were outstanding. The lobster gnocchi dish exploded with flavor. Would love to return on a future trip.
