Actually it should be 4 1/4. Our first time here, used to be Maggie's Cafe. Nice place. Our server was wonderful, pleasant and informative. She let us eat at our own pace which we loved. My wife had a beet and pear salad which she loved. She ordered the crab cakes which were delicious, very little filler. I had the... More

Although I only live about twenty minutes from Bar Harbor I thought this restaurant was a little hard to find. You must turn left on Cottage Street and then make another left to find Summer Street. The restaurant is blue on the outside with a very nice interior. As you walk in there is a bar and the seating area... More

It's season end and the traffic is down. So you'd think they could put together a better main course. One of my friends and my wife and I all had the lamb dish. Very disappointed. There was so much cous cous and kale it was hard to find the lamb. They had brought steak knives so we thought a decent... More

Richard, I’m sorry that you were disappointed with your meal last Friday evening. For the life of me I cannot explain why your server would bring you a steak knife knowing that lamb is braised and served tagine style - producing a very tender lamb stew. As for the quantity of lamb: I assure you we did not run out... More

This was great find (thanks Tripadvisor) on our stay in Bar Harbor. The restaurant is small so make sure to book. The food was lovely, fresh - crabcakes were ok, my wife's sweet potato and coconut soup was much better. The duck and the local fish mains were both delicious. Well worth a visit.

In general we found restaurants in Bar Harbor to be unimpressive. We booked a table here to celebrate our engagement and it did not disappoint, providing an excellent meal to celebrate a once in a lifetime event. Should we find ourselves in Bar Harbor again, we will definitely be back here!

I am a trained chef, with a background in a variety of ethnic cuisines in both a la carte and full-service lodging properties. Our meal at Fathom last week was one of the best in years on every level: culinary preparation and presentation and service that was professional and knowledgeable without being pretentious or overly formal. I look forward to... More

My husband and I had a great dinner here. The mussels appetizer was delicious. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the wait staff was great.

I had my first meal at Fathom Columbus Day w/e. We were met with delicious warm focccia bread and bean spread to start. I knew that this was going to be a good meal. I did not know that it was going to be my most favorite meal of all time. I had chateaubriand. My friend had the baked haddock... More

The food and drinks were wonderful! Our server knew all about the menu and could offer knowledgeable advice. She was also familiar with the bar and helped with drink selections. This was the best meal of our trip!!

Nice little restaurant with great food. We got the recommendation from our landlord, when we asked for a good seafood restaurant. It lays a bit outside of the touristic district and that is exactly the reason, why we chose it. It has a good atmosphere and the staff realy cares. You are not a number like in the other huge...
