I can understand why this place is consistently ranked one of the best in Bar Harbor. We got there early on Thursday so didn’t have to wait, but just 10 minutes later there was already a line out the door. Very family friendly with a diverse menu, we had lobster stew and burgers (veggie for me, meat for him). The... More

Lobster roll is delicious! They use very little mayo so it's light and you really taste the lobster.

The lobster rolls had lobster meat practically pouring out of the bun (yum). This roll had a bit of spice seasoning added to the top. It added a nice touch.

Really liked this restaurant. It was very busy, popular place. They have everything for every taste and I enjoyed the make your own burger/sandwich option. I got the grilled ham and cheese on pita bread, make sure you get it.

We came across this place as we were looking for dinner one night. One of the first things that impressed us was that they were the only restaurant we came across during our trip that took five dollars off all their listed lobster meals. when we asked why, the told us that they are a family owned business and they... After reading trip advisor I was not sure what to find but liked the menu. It was a great! We were seated right away and our server was great. They were running a special of $5.00 all lobster entree's to support the local fisherman. Lobster rolls were delicious and piled high. The rest of the plates passing by all looked... More

Our family of five went to the Side Street Cafe for lunch in late August---never saw the interior of the restaurant but had a nice table on the patio. Thought it was great that they were offering several lobster dishes for $5 off to encourage people to eat more lobster (as if you had to twist my arm) since there... More

Our first visit to Bar Harbor, and - of course - we had to have a lobster roll. Thanks to Side Street for a really great lobster roll. Lots of lobster, nicely seasoned, very tasty.

And fairly good hamburgers. But everything else is just OK. Decor is basic but decent for a sit-down restaurant. They don't serve any bread as starters. Their lobster stew is quite tasty but that entree is only accompanied by a pack of crackers. For its saltiness, some bread would have been a good accompaniment. Prices is not a bargain but... More
