Sometimes a place has such a huge menu that it's scary because you wonder if everything could actually be good... well, at Side Street Cafe it IS that good. Go and put your name in and then walk around town- they text you when your table is ready. We had about an hour's wait. The biggest hits at our table... More

We have been to Bar Harbor twice though this was our first chance to eat at the Side Street Cafe. Many locals recommended it and we were surprised to hear they are open year round too! It is a local family owned business and you can tell because they give back to the community through local donations. They also recognize... More

The Emmy is one of the finest vegetable wraps that I have ever tasted - and I'm not a vegetarian! It's just so good. What else can I say ?! Maybe it was the initial serving of crispy mixed greens - with its fruits and nuts - or maybe it was the atmosphere... regardless, whenever I find myself in BH... More

We rolled into town right around dinner time to start our vacation and needed a takeout place with a solid reputation to satisfy eight people's different appetites. Side Street had good ratings and they did not disappoint. Extensive menu, generous portions and delicious combinations. None of us were disappointed and several had tasty leftovers for breakfast. Fast and accurate turnaround... More

After a long morning on a fishing charter I asked the mate which restaurant had the best chowder. He told me to come to Side Street so we did. Clam chowder was excellent. My favorite during our whole visit. We had an interesting stuffed avocado app which I also enjoyed. Local blueberry beer was served with blueberries floating in it.... More

Went here for dinner. The place was a bit crowded, so service was slow, but the food was very good. To make up for the slow service, the waitress gave us a discount. Also has some nifty decorations.

My family of five came for a day trip to Bar Harbor and chose Side Street Cafe for lunch. All of our meals were delicious! Happy we tried the Haddock Chowder (soup of the day) that was outrageously good, a yummy tuna melt, and a sweet and spicy haddock sandwich. We weren't thrilled with the guacamole and chips appetizer, or... More

Based on the TripAdvisor reviews, I thought that Side Street Café was a "must do" in Bar Harbor. My husband and I went there for lunch. They had a scallop appetizer special that sounded good, so we ordered it, along with a lobster roll (me) and a whole lobster (my husband). A few minutes later, the waitress came back to... More

Great food and service but not particularly priced for a good value. Creative combination of favors. Would definitely recommend for a "foodie." Very crowded on a Saturday night with over an hour wait, but seating at bar and outside was available without waiting

This was our last eat out at Bar Harbor and was well worth it. It is not one of those waterfront restaurants, but a nice and cozy one on interior Roddick st. We parked on the 3 hr public parking lot and walked up there. The ambience was nice but busy. We were seated with 10 mts. I ordered for... More
