Amazing salad with baked Manchego cheese

While staying at the Bluenose Inn, I had dinner at the Looking Glass restaurant. The special salad with Manchego cheese was amazing! They should keep it on the menu as a regular salad. I enjoyed the Halibut with spring pea and lobster risotto along with a Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, Oregon... read more

We have eaten here on several occasions, both breakfast and dinner. Staff is friendly, the view is phenomenal. Was disappointed that their Lobster Bisque was off of the menu, but still a great meal!

We decided to give this restaurant a try after reading that it had a talented new chef/owner. As others have said, the view here is the high point. It was so lovely we had high expectations for a wonderful experience, but all other areas fell surprisingly short. The dining room itself is very plain and simple - no table cloths,... More

The best things about this restaurant are the view from the deck and the menu. The service was average. Our bar service was wrong. We ate on the deck since we had our dog, which was nice until it started to rain and they were short on umbrellas. Also, the mosquitoes was very bad and they did not have any... More

Let's start with the positives- the view is amazing- which is probably what you are really paying for at 40.00 a plate. We made reservations for a Saturday night at 7:30 and we were so lucky to have gotten the very best seat in the house- center window! You are blown away by the panoramic views! We were seated- and... We had breakfast there. The service was agonizingly slow and the pancakes were tough and rubbery. Prices quite high considering the food and service were not good and we seemed to be paying for the view.

Went for breakfast. Now if you can't get breakfast right then forget dinner. The pancakes were doughy and heavy, almost raw tasting. The breakfast sandwich would have been good but the biscuit it was served on was dry and falling apart, not fresh. It has great potential just need to improve the basics.

The restaurant is part of the Bluenose hotel complex it is at the highest point of the grounds and the hotel offers golf cart ride to the top if you are a guest and if you dont want to walk. A little bit dissapointed with the food as the hotel is a five star and we expected the same with... More

If there is a restaurant in Bar Harbor with a better view, I'd be very surprised. Perched high on a hill above the Blue Nose Inn, the restaurant offers panoramic views of the water and islands surrounding Bar Harbor. We ate outside on the very spacious deck and were treated to some truly incredible views during sunset. Our food was... More
