Up on a hill, this restaurant provides a stunning view of the waters around Bar Harbor. Food was very good and the service was fine. The only caution: it can be a bit confusing finding your way to the restaurant. It's attached to the Bluenose Motel, and requires weaving through various parking lots to get to the restaurant. Ask for... More

Ate here for dinner twice and for breakfast. Service was superb and the food was excellent. Lobster in many varieties including mac and cheese-supreme comfort food. Fabulous cocktails and good wine list too.

Very Disappointing! $38.00 for their Seafood Medley entree: 2 shrimp, 2 scallops, very small lobster tail, and small piece of salmon over a rice pilaf accompanied by a vegetable mix. The salmon was the only item cooked properly. The lobster was over cooked; it had no flavor and the consistency of rubber. The outside of the scallops were tough. The... More

We had a great meal. I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese and my husband had the Halibut. We really liked them both. The prices were the highest we paid while on our 4 day trip to Bar Harbor, but he view was worth it. The food and service was very good! We would definitely go back.

The main room was much too loud, we had too yell to each other to even have a conversation. But, I found a secret! Ask to be seated in the bar. It's much quieter there, making for much more enjoyable meals.

I am very glad to hear that you were able to make the best out of a challenging situation. I know that the volume in our restaurant can get very loud when we are quite busy. We have done several treatments to soundproof and are always working to make sure that our guests have the best possible environment to enjoy... More

If you must, buy an over priced beer at the bar and look at the spectacular view. Then eat somewhere else. We had reservations, were seated promptly and received very good service from Jason. I ordered the crab cake appetiser, mainly greasy bread with barely a nibble of crab meat. I followed that with the veal chop. A large bone,... More

We didn't have reservations and we would have had to wait 2 hours for a table, so we decided to eat at the bar. That was a great decision. The bar tender was funny and the staff was much more relaxed off the dinning floor. We got to meet Jim the owner and overall just relax. Oh, and the food... More

Thank you for your wonderful and fun review of the Looking Glass. I am very happy to hear that you were able to join in the fun with our staff and enjoy a busy night with us. It sounds as though you both ordered from our newly introduced Vegan menu. We have gotten great response from our guests about it.... More

We went to this restaurant for their lazy lobster dinner which was the first time our grandsons had ever eaten lobster, expecting it to be good even though their price was more than other restaurants we checked in the area. Instead it was the smallest lobster tail and the toughest we had ever eaten.

Thank you very much for your very positive review of our restaurant. It sounds like you had the Seafood Medley, with scallops, shrimp, halibut and lobster in a rich vegetable cream sherry sauce. I see many pictures of our food on Tripadvisor and welcome you to add to the collection. It is great to know you had such a memorable... More
