Best view! Great Food!

Please overlook all the negative reviews. It's a whole new experience! I was invited to the first seating of 2015. It was a limited menu, opening night is May 1st. But everything was fabulous. My first course was a GF mushroom tart with goat cheese, a perfect appetizer portion for one, or a... read more

Had a wonderful 5-course meal as part of Taste of Bar Harbor and every single course was exceptional: Oyster Rockefeller, Cauliflower Parsnip Soup, Poached Lobster Salad, Venison Tenderloin and Nanaimo Cheesecake. I absolutely loved every dish - one of my top ten meals ever! The staff was very welcoming and attentive, which made a spectacular dinner even better. And the... More

It's not cheap, but I think the prices are very typical for the Bar Harbor area. The chef is wonderful and offers a nice selection of entrees. The best thing is the view though...it simply can't be beat. You are looking out huge glass windows at the town of Bar Harbor, Frenchman's Bay and the Porcupine Islands. If you don't... More

I wish to sincerely thank you for your comments of the Looking Glass Restaurant. While I totally concur that the view is one of the best, if not the best, on the Island, I also was thrilled that you enjoyed your meal and felt we had a nice selection of entrees. Yes, we are not inexpensive but feel the quality... More

This round building atop a mountain gives the diner a panoramic view of Bar Harbor (actually can see the "bar" of Bar Harbor during low tide) the outer islands and Frenchman's Bay. Wow! You could stay there for hours looking out at the beauty (actually after dinner we stayed on their fire lit deck for abit, sipping... ) ok that... More

A wonderful scenic breakfast overlooking Bar Harbor with our 3 Weimaraners outside on the patio. Our server was great and brought out a giant dog biscuit for the dogs to nibble upon while we ate a lovely breakfast overlooking the harbor.

We had breakfast here both mornings of our stay in Bar Harbor. Between it being off-season and a major winter storm, there weren't many options for breakfast, but it worked out great since The Looking Glass was so tasty. Over the two days, we had the granola, Bar Harbor breakfast, blueberry pancakes, and Maine coast omelet. They were all fantastic.... More

On top of a high hill, this restaurant overlooks the local harbour and bays. Windows all around, with a spectacular view. We have only had breakfast there two or three times, but will definitely return next year. The breakfast menu is quite large, with something for everybody. The food was very good, and cooked to perfection. Prices are very reasonable. Staff... More

The view is phenomenal!!!! Plus, the food and the service. It's cozy and casual. It is awesome! I had a very good experience. It's a shame they don't have wild blueberry pie served at breakfast.

The restaurant was beautiful and had great views. After dinner we enjoyed sitting on the deck around the fire pit having a cocktail!
