The selection of sandwiches was most interesting, Desert selection was excellent. Unusual place as they are near a hardware landscaping business and nothing else. But they just happened to be across the street from our cottage. Hours of operation are 10-2 only. Seating is limited to a few picnic tablets, but most of the orders are to go and they... More

Mother's Kitchen was the best lunch we had in Bar Harbor. Fresh food, friendly staff and fun ingredients combine to make a perfect sandwich stop. A must for MDI lunch.

Best lunch we had in the Bar Harbor area. Very eclectic and eccentric choices made with wholesome ingredients. I knew that I would be getting a great lunch based on the menu alone.

After travelling up and down route 102 looking for Mother's, we stumbled upon it after having given up for another destination for lunch. Food was fresh and generous although seating is only outside. On the corner of Gilbert farm road and route 102.

Excellent lunch....Highly recommend calling in your order ahead of time. If not the atmosphere is great to wait. Love is put into every sandwich that is made.

We stopped by here to visit a friend who is working here from the summer - on break from culinary school. Their talented hires and creativity with the menu, in addition to fresh no wonderful ingredients, make for a wonderful meal. All sandwiches can be ordered as a Salad - but it would be a shame to miss the bread.... More

The title of this review is the tag line of Mother's Kitchen. This is a little place just off ME Hwy 102. My wife and I stopped there today when we saw their parking lot full of cars and the picnic tables in their "backyard" full of diners. If you are looking for an unassuming, clean, friendly little sandwich shop,... More

The reviews below are right on- an excellent sandwich shop with unique sandwiches and desserts! Small in size, yet very friendly and helpful staff. They do work very hard, and I had no problem leaving a tip in the jar! We had the Grand Banker, which consisted of turkey, pesto mayo, lettuce and tomato, and red onion. We paired that... More

There are plenty of deli shops in downtown Bar Harbor, but if you are looking for a great, creative sandwich, away from crowds and busy streets- this is the best place! The sandwiches are great size, fresh ingredients, a great service. Mother's Kitchen is a little bit of a drive from downtown Bar Harbor, but well worth it- and I... More

Stopped here before checking in at the KOA down the street. We've been coming here for years, but never noticed this place! Excellent, fresh, delicious sandwiches. Our picky 10 year old really liked the ham and cheddar, and was adventurous enough to try the pesto pasta salad, which she really loved. A must-stop-at from now on, for us!
