Hidden gem

Okay, I confess to living just a couple of blocks away and having quite a few days where I get off work and just don't feel like cooking. Since the wife's family background is Italian, the question of, "What should we do for dinner?" is often answered by, "Italian." First of all, you don't go to... read more

If we're going by the quality and taste of the food, my opinion is the food is just average here. But if you combine it with the value, then it ups the rating to good. Because of the sparse settings with barely concrete floor and wooden booths, the place can get a little on the noisy side when they're busy.... More

This place has absolutely the best chicken fettuccini Alfredo! I don't know what it is about the sauce, but it's amazing. They also have what they call an Alfredo butter that you can ask for with your dinner bread. It is addicting! Once it was introduced to me by one of the waitresses I was hooked and it has kept... Vacationing in HI and tired of overpriced meals when we found a place where the locals eat. Fun place with lively atmosphere. Our waiter, Rodney, was great and very personable. The prices are what you might expect on the mainland. The menu was varied and the servings were generous. Some might call it noisy but we called it lively. You... More

We got gnocchi which was nice and fluffy, Alfredo which was good too. Meat sauce on both pasta and gnocchi was lacking flavor. Even after adding salt and pepper, jarred sauce is better. Service was great and people were friendly and attentive. So we will go back to try other items but if I have a choice, definitely drive to... More

Let me start by saying I love olive oil more than anyone. My grandmother was 100% Italian from Rome so I grew up with incredible pasta dishes. The two pasta dishes I had were way too rich. I could only take a few bites. I has the linguini with pesto and the gnocchi with Alfredo. Both were overly sauced and... More

My husband and I finally ate here after driving past it many times-we live right up the road! We were not disappointed and will be back! We had the Orzo Dip appetizer, which was delicious but a little rich (the toasted bread they served it with was toasted to perfection!) We both really enjoyed our meals-meat balls with fresh fettuccine... More

Auntie Pasto's is a great family place. They are good with large parties and they are pleasant to deal with. The food is typical Hawaiian Italian food which is to say just average. But the service can be great. We had a great waiter, Corey (sp.) who really ran his head off trying to please everyone in a large party.... More

We love this place. We have gone here on many occasions just us and with friends. The food is always good. Excellent service and great lunch specials. Before we left Hawaii, we took our Hawaiian family of 6 with us and it was excellent. Everyone had fun and the food was great. Prices are very reasonable also.

Four of us had lunch and all of our meals were unacceptable, maybe our worst meals ever! The pastas were dry and cold and the sauces boring. How can you not have perfect bolognese? Cannot recommend.
