Excellent and great value

We spotted Keneke's on the way to Hanauma Bay, and made a point of stopping on our way back since it looked like a place where the locals eat (ie; not touristy in any sense). The food was excellent, although you do have to wait, and great value. There is a small eating area that is quite... read more

Food- just ok. Surroundings - dirty Sorry, I thought it would be a fun, Hawaiian type thing, but we were very disappointed. The girl working there was very nice though, if that helps at all. And, all the scripture in the building and paper cups was appreciated by my family, but that doesn't make up for the terrible condition of... More

Prior eats at Keneke's were solid 4s, today's visit was a let down. Ordered the kalbi and mahi plates with a pineapple milkshake. Kalbi portion was generous and seasoning was well marinated and tasty, but meat was very fatty and tough, plastic knife was useless for this meat. Mahi portion was average, pieces were small and thin, a bit dry... More

i wanted to give this place a very good, but based on facilities i can't. was pouring down rain so we had to eat in their covered eating area, which is basically used by locals as a homeless shelter. bathroom was disgusting, bugs all over the place. but the food was very good. id recommend ordering food and taking it... My family and I ate lunch here while visiting the island and found it to be a good value for the amount of food that we received and the food was good as well. The only issue was that the restaurant itself is pretty ran down and we saw multiple ants. One could say that this is island living and... More

Food is just ok for fast food. Nothing special. Cleanliness doesn't appear to be a top priority. Parking is limited.

I grew up on this side of the island and must have driven past this place a hundred times at least. We finally stopped here to eat one day after picking up my son and his friends from the beach and they were starving. For some reason the wait was extremely long even though they weren't very busy. But never... More

Keneke's is my families favorite stop as we drive through Waiminalo, Oahu. If you are a visitor to Oahu, it's a very authentic "local" stop. My husbands father lived just down the road on the beach and as a child he walked to Keneke's. When we moved to Oahu, I took my horse there and he lived up the road... More

Entire menu is excellent but takes a while to get you food...plan on at least 30 minutes to get food/smoothies/shave ice. AVOID the other location as the food at this location is the only location with good food

We ate here last time we were in Hawaii, 4 years ago and loved it so much that we returned with friends this trip. The food and service were still great. The downside this visit, waas that the covered seating area was a mess. This is no-frills local food and diners can sit at a naturally air conditioned covered patio... More
