Excellent and great value

We spotted Keneke's on the way to Hanauma Bay, and made a point of stopping on our way back since it looked like a place where the locals eat (ie; not touristy in any sense). I grew up on this side of the island and must have driven past this place a hundred times at least. We finally stopped here to eat one day after picking up my son and his friends from the beach and they were starving. For some reason the wait was extremely long even though they weren't very busy. But never... More

Keneke's is my families favorite stop as we drive through Waiminalo, Oahu. If you are a visitor to Oahu, it's a very authentic "local" stop. My husbands father lived just down the road on the beach and as a child he walked to Keneke's. When we moved to Oahu, I took my horse there and he lived up the road... More

Entire menu is excellent but takes a while to get you food...plan on at least 30 minutes to get food/smoothies/shave ice. AVOID the other location as the food at this location is the only location with good food

We ate here last time we were in Hawaii, 4 years ago and loved it so much that we returned with friends this trip. The food and service were still great. The downside this visit, waas that the covered seating area was a mess. This is no-frills local food and diners can sit at a naturally air conditioned covered patio... More

Driving around Oahu, we Googled best spots for local food on the route and Keneke's popped up with a number of great reviews. It's supposed to be barbeque. What we got was a pretty local-looking roadside spot; not unexpected for BBQ. The food, though, while not terrible, was not great. We tried the barbeque chicken, pig, and pulled pork. None... More

This place looks like a dump. Stickers and writing over all the walls. Pothead homeless dudes sleeping under the covered eating area. But dont let that stop you from drpping by for a plate lunch. The food here is cheap ($10 for a 3 item plate lunch) and they give a lot (one plate was good for me, my wife,... More

We stopped by on our way up to Turtle Bay. From the outside it just looks like an unassuming takeaway place but on the inside it is completely overrun with bible quotes. Kind of creepy to be honest. But the food was delicious so I still highly recommend a stop. Plenty of locals eating there so you know the place... More

We try to visit Oahu every 3 years or so, and Keneke's is always a staple on our trip. There's really not a great place to sit and eat though, so take your food to go, and head 3 blocks behind Keneke's to the most beautiful strip of beach you will ever see. Get the kalua pig...oy vey.

It's run down, smelly and full of character. Bible quotes line the walls and people line the sidewalk. Popular place with lunches, sandwiches and ice cream/shave ice.
