Good Japanese food

A group of my friends meet here every few months for food and conversation. We love the lunch specials for its value. Food and service are always good.

The green tea was over steeped, the tsukemono was tepid, and the salad had way too much dressing. My vegetable tempura entree was pretty sad, the firm blocks of tofu bring there best thing. The carrot was acceptable... More

I love the food at this restaurant. The combo meals, sashimi and tempura are excellant. The prices are very reasonable. Must try if in Pearl City, Hawaii. Great service.

Valerie was a sparkeling gem, a winning smile and knowledgeable menu recommendations. Food was very good "authentic" Japanese.

My girlfriend and I wanted some warmed sake with sushi rolls. So we choose Gyotaku Restaurant in Pearl City. There was a long waiting list and was received and provided a table after 1 hours wait. The dining is booth style so there is not much atmosphere in the restaurant. The Japanese brush paintings scattered throughout were authentic rice paper... More

After reading many good reviews, I thought I'd try Gyotaku. While I could understand the problems many people reported about parking, I came on a quiet Tuesday evening and had no problems. This was my second visit to Gyotaku and I like it...I like it a lot! The tempura is expertly made and not oily or over battered. The sushi is fresh and they give u a choice of brown or white rice. Expect a short wait...but it is well worth it. I will be back on my next visit to the... More
