Consistently great Thai food

We have been visiting Chao Phya for years. First of all, they have the best sticky rice of anywhere in the planet!! 2 other favorites are the satay chicken with the awesome peanut sauce and cucumbers and the spring rolls with the lettuce wrap and zingy dip. Visited this restaurant on a lunch stop while driving through Kaneohe. We are very particular of our Thai palate... having eaten at some of the most unique Thai establishments in Bangkok, Phuket, Khao Lak, and the Similan Islands. With all the ingredients now widely available on the local market, there is no reason Thai food shouldn't taste authentic. Fortunately, Chao... More

Sorry all you rave reviewers. The staff were very friendly but the take-out was not so great. I got a shrimp dish and the 3 teeny shrimp, the watery sauce and the $$ I paid was not worth it. Although the sauce ITSELF was thin but tasty, the portions were so small I won't be going back. Had to ASK... More

Prices are high for portion size especially at lunch. Pad Thai noodle overcome and less tasty than other Thai restaurants but generally a pleasant setting for casual dining.

newly expanded, great menu and really good Thai food; Hands-on, personal attention to detail by "Mama Toy" makes for a great, fast, BYOB dining adventure. We go here often, are never disappointed. Try the garlic mahi-mahi!

My family and I are traveling through Hawaii from Las Vegas, on our way to an overseas assignment. For the first night that we were all together, and didn't have work the next day, we decided to go out to dinner. Since I usually rely heavily on travel reviews sites such as Trip Advisor and Yelp, that is how we... More

Food was tasty. Service was attentive. Atmosphere was old and made me feel the kitchen might be just as dingy. Prices for lunch were higher than I'd have liked to have paid for our portions of food. House salad is the best tasting thing on the menu but was just so small in portion that I would reconsider returning.

After a long day of traveling we arrived at our place in Kaneohe . We went looking for a place to eat that was not a chain and had plenty of cars in the parking lot . We went in and most of the tables were full . We had the pineapple rice and cashew chicken . Both were very... More

We read about this on TA and had to find, which isn't that easy. It's right next to the Starbucks! We loved the fresh tastes and authentic Thai flavors. We had lunch on the patio and the service was wonderful too.

Chao Phya Thai is gourmet Thai food. We stopped at this restaurant by chance during our recent vacation. We ate at the restauranat during lunch hour and tried almost everything on their lunch appetizer menu along with an entree and dessert. We were so impressed with everything we ate, we had planned to go back the next day, it was... More
