More than we expected

Our hotel suggested this place as a 'local' place that we might like. There is no WAY we expected what we got! We had a wait for our table, but loved watching the bartender in action whipping up spectacular drinks. The ambiance is 5 star Hawaiian!! The views are beyond amazing!! And the... read more

We showed up on a Saturday night with 10 adults and two toddlers and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. They had a waiting area for us so we could order drinks and appetizers. We ordered some snacks & drinks (mainly so the kids could eat 1st). After that I took my wife & young daughter around... More

Referred here by resort staff and wasn't disappointed. Ate here several times and the food was top notch. Price mid-range to expensive. You gotta get there early to get the Prime rib, 'cause when it's gone, it's gone. The reason for only 4 stars, service can be slow, but I guess that's the side effect of being very tasty and... The atmosphere is off the charts, the food is good - the prime rib is the "must have" for most people who come here (for me it would be the fresh baked fish!), but the thing that puts the "icing on the cake" is the service! They have some of the friendliest, helpful and kindest people working for them. It's... More

Our granddaughter took a burger from McDonalds into this place and nobody seemed to be bothered by it. The adults all had something better, though. We started out with poke and sushi, which was delicious. One adult enjoyed the yummy mushroom appetizer. We ate light lunches, trying a few different salads, and they were all very good. It was raining... More

We used to like the restaurant when it was independently owned. It was never great, always overpriced for what it is, but decent (and really the ONLY restaurant in Kaneohe that is). Even though we live 3 minutes away, we never go there any moire, will drive half an hour first. It is a pretty garden, but like many places... More

My wife I made a trip to Haleiwa Joe's based on other's reviews. We got there early as they don't take reservations. We had a drink the bar and enjoyed the atmosphere of their open air restaurant and beautiful surrounding gardens. We had one of our better MaiTai's here at the bar. For dinner, my wife had the coconut shrimp... More

Drove here one night for dinner. The views of the gardens are great and worth the trip. The food was just OK, nothing special or anything that made it stand out. The desserts though are delicious and were the best part of our meal. They have a Kona coffee ice cream pie with a Oreo cookie crust that was finger... More

We went three times to this long-time steak house in Kaneohe, and found the same situation each time...a long wait in uncomfortable seating, even with reservations. The steaks and prime rib dinners are wonderful, but the large accumulation of retired customers who frequent the bar in this establishment was, at times, a real bummer. Clearly the Haleiwa Joe's in Kaneohe... More
