For a plate lunch it was it was better than average. The menu choices were different and the portions were normal sized compared to the usual overabundance of other plate lunches. We had misoyaki beef and guava chicken with the usual rice and mac salad. The entrees were very good, the mac salad just... read more

Hole in the wall. Google said closed at 5:00. Got there at 4:30 and store was open, but person there would not even make eye contact with us. Definitely ready to close up shop. Probably good place for convenience store snacks when getting on or off your boat. No meals to be had.

This place really misses Mark Noguchi when he used to own it. It is a hole in the wall located north of Kaneohe. The guava chicken, burgers, were all made fresh. The choices were plentiful. But that was in the past. Now on this visit, we were told (and every one else) that "they were basically out of everything which... More

This place has been on my list due to DDD and looked promising when we pulled up. Lot's of Japanese tourists in the area for the charter boats and plenty of outdoor covered picnic tables. I went with the beef stew. The sauce was very tasty but the quality of the beef was poor. My wife had the plate lunch... More

Terrific sandwiches and Saimin. A wonderful, off the beaten path, treat. They close very early so plan your visit accordingly.

We came, like most tourists, due to the Triple D show. Most of the dishes were crossed off the menu and not available. We had the fish special and the luau pork stew. Pork stew was way too salty (the underlying flavor was good so that was too bad), the fish was good but they need to change the cooking... More

Hidden gem. Guava chicken plate lunch is enough food for two people. Patty Melt was also really good. First saw this place on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and it didn't disappoint.

As is the norm in HI, very expensive for a basic lunch. Limited menu, no cheese for the cheeseburger the day we were there. Nice view, but can be crazy busy because of some of the tour boats dock here.

I usually know I made the right decision when most of the patrons are local. That is the case here. A plain exterior with a knock out view at the end of the dock, this place is what it looks like and more. Not a fancy tourist spot, a real down home site serving a menu that satisfied our group... Our Honolulu hosts wanted to try this restaurant after it was presented on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" with a favorable review of its poke (chopped raw fish salad). We went on a Sunday. The poke was sold out, so members of our party tried the other specialties on the menu. Buffalo wings were succulent but incredibly greasy from the deep... More
