Worth the hunt for parking and the wait for a table

My son was home from college and jonesin' for Moke's pancakes with lilikoi sauce. He waited for a table while I surveyed the parking situation. There's now a johnny-on-the-spot attendant at the lot across the street, so be sure to pay before you return. Metered street parking available if you score... read more

I never thought I'd say this because I love Boots and Kimo in Kailua. But, Moke's is better! My husband and I went to Moke's for the first time today (Saturday). Arrived at 7:30 and waited ten minutes. Wait time was longer by the time we left. He had a bacon and cheese omelet that was stuffed full. I had... More

Outstanding little place in Kailua. The Reuben sandwich was delicious with homemade rye bread and I could make no recommendations for improvement it was so good! My husband had the tuna melt, also wonderful. Both very large! The staff is so friendly too. We got there at one pm which was the perfect time with no wait. Nice fans to... More

Moke's bakes their own muffins and bread, the food is great and the staff is super friendly. It's conveniently located near the center of Kailua.

If you're wondering if the name is pronounced "Moaks" or "Mo-keys" has been settled by our server who is a family member of the owners. It's officially "Mo-keys". Hubby was upset to learn this as he likes "Moaks" better even if we've never seen a true local Moke bruddah eating there. Now that's settled I can tell you that the... More

favorite is their rueben sandwich and smoked ahi tuna sandwich. they serve benedicts only on saturday mornings (if I remember correctly) so if you're going on a saturday, don't miss it! friendly staff and plenty tables but waiting list can get long so go prepared to wait if aiming for lunch time

I got the loco moco... delicious with the fried rice and my wife got the banana pancakes which are probably the best I've ever had! A great stop, good service, busy and a little slow to be seated but worth the wait!!

Best pancake (singular, as it was huge!) We had on our entire trip, hands down! I ordered the corned beef hash and my husband had the Loco Moke plate. Both were delicious. But we wanted to try these rave-reviewed pancakes so I ordered a 2-stack. The waitress recommended just one single pancake. Thank goodness she did. The pancake was massive!... More

They have good food and service. The wait can be long if you're in a bigger group. The place is BYOB :)

This was recommended by some local folks so we tried it. The breakfast was good. They are famous for passion fruit pancakes. We ordered and the wait for the food to arrive was quite long compared to other breakfast places we went to. Did not really understand why.
