Like most of Kailua, this place is a disaster for tourists. You are here solely to hand over your money and get out of town as quickly as possible. If you really wish to be a tourist in Hawaii, stay in Waikiki, that's what it's for.

I live in Kailua, but have only been to Boots & Kimo's once (and it's within walking distance). They have a typical American breakfast menu (not much that's actually good for you, i.e., healthy) but local favorites as well, so if you're a visitor and into trying local breakfast items, it's a good place for that. However, it is a... More

We took our niece and her two boys here for breakfast. The meals were great and nice size portions, but I wanted to try the Portuguese sausage that I have been seeing on different menus around the islands. What a disappointment, they brought out three pieces not much bigger than a 50 cent piece and just about twice as thick.... More

Boots & Kimo's in Kailua serves the absolute best macadamia nut pancakes EVER! I am not a huge pancake person (I prefer eggs for breakfast) but every review I had read about this restaurant raved about the pancakes. Both my husband and myself had blueberry pancakes topped with macadamia nut syrup. Pancake Heaven! I have never had such a tasty... More

Macnutpancakes!!!!! I dream about these! They are like a desert.... So rich and creamy. Like melted ice cream on pancakes! The service is great once you're inside. There's always a wait though. I also had Hawaii corn beef hash and poached eggs. Super yummy!

So the food was great!! We were a group of 6 (so, ya know .... Very small restaurant). Though, there are many free public tables outside the restaurant on the sidewalk. If I had to do it again I would order my food to go and eat on the tables which are outside and empty anyway!!! The part that rubbed... More

There was so much hype about this place, but to be honest, it was just ok. We had the famous mac nut pancakes, which were good but nothing to write home about; and the breakfast ribs, which were also alright. This is a huge japanese tourist attraction, so there are lots of people waiting. Overall, I don't think it was... More

We visited here the first morning of our vacation and they set our standards high! We were a bit turned off by what they said would be a 20 minute wait, but it was a beautiful morning to sit outside, and it only 5 minutes to get us in. We ordered omelettes and pancakes. The food only took about 15... More

My father moved to Kailua 10 years ago. I visit him twice and year and it is our tradition to get the "Mac-nut sauce pancakes". They are so good! But don't get them if you are on a diet! I am a native Coloradan and they are Broncos fans, so going in there feels like home. The humble beginnings of... More

Loved the memorabilia, football jerseys, helmets--many autographed. Service was excellent. Oh, and the food was good too. Were in Hawaii for the Pro Bowl and they had the place decorated all ready for the Super Bowl--Broncos and Seahawks. Just a fun place to go have a meal. Macadamia nut sauce for the pancakes was not as sweet as I thought... More
