I grew up on the Windward side and have spent many dinners and lunches at Buzz's. Unfortunately, I found the quality of the food to be slowly declining. If you stay with the fresh fish, you should be ok. Some of the appetizers are excellent as well...calamari steak...mmmm! A little crowded inside and pricey for what you get, but worthwhile... more

We went here for dinner without reservations, but still got seated (lucky for us, supposedly). The dinner menu was very short and our options limited. I ordered the calimari steak and some girly mixed drink and I was SO impressed w/ the calimari steak - simply DELICIOUS. My friend ordered the Artichoke Surprise and that was wonderful too. We visit this beach shack ( it's much more than an "shack") every visit to Oahu. They make great drinks. We enjoy the lunch menu that now includes some new items. The sandwiches are as good as ever. Get their early as it is often very crowed. more

Do yourself a favor and stay away. Residents like the strong Mai Tais but you will need about three of them to think this is a acceptable dining in the year 2009. As in any near beach local ..it doesn't have to try to serve good food.... you don't have to eat crappy expensive food either. No soap in bathrooms... more

We tried Buzz's Steakhouse as it was highly recommended by Fodor's and other travel guides. There were four adults in our group and four children (ages 6, 4, 3 and 1). Disappointing. It was very busy (not sure how many were dining vs drinking) so we sat wedged in at the bar. The food was OK, but the steak was underdone a touch. Dessert was good, and you get to see the options presented in front of you, a nice feature. The worst thing is that they don't accept card payments... more
