A resouding Excellent! ... but ...

This is a quality place to eat if you like Asian food. Top atmosphere and top food quality. We went for dinner, on a Friday night, and I had bibimbop and my partner had beef noodles. Both dishes were very good. The service was very cordial and competent. Oh, and I forgot to mention the parking... read more

Dinner at Willow Tree begins with a bowl of daikon soup and a variety of condiments. Then you choose your specific entree. We have never had a bad one. My favorite everywhere is butterfish. The staff is friendly and the ambiance very neighborly.

So this place isn't anything like the glamour and glitz of Waikiki. They're a subtle restaurant in a shopping mall, with authentic but out dated decor. BUT - the food, the prices and best of all the family make this place incredible. Just to give you an overview, their lunch special gives you the option to pick between 3 island-korean... More

With four restaurants to choose from -- all right next to each other in a Safeway strip mall -- we flipped a coin and went in here. Great choice! We'd never had Korean food before, and so we had lots of trepidation and many questions for the old man (owner?) who waited (and waited) on us. At his suggestion we... More

Excellent traditional and innovative Korean food, well-prepared, no MSG, etc., in large quantity, served promptly & at reasonable prices. Only downer was no wine/beer served, and none allowed on premises.

I have lived in Kailua all my life (54 years) and I finally tried this place after many people have said how good it is. Don't think so. Service was not great; food was average; and price was way too high for the quality/quantity of food. Don't get me wrong - we know how expensive Korean food can be so... More

Willow Tree has become one of our favorite places to eat on a regular basis. We generally have lunch, but dinner is also very good. Their lunch special gives you a choice of 3 "meats" which include (but not all) chicken katsu, BBQ chicken, kalbi, fish or meat jun, fried mandoo, etc), rice, veggies or mac salad, kimchi & the best... This restaurant is a hidden gem. It's inexpensive, tasty, and a great environment to catch up with friends and family. The house fried rice and combination platter are specifically noteworthy. I would recommend this place to anyone. Show up early.

1st time tasting Korean fare and it was a great experience. They made suggestions and the choice of food was great. It's a small place located in a strip mall but worth the visit!

It can get rather busy, but the food is great, it is truly a great Korean atmosphere. If you go there for lunch, they have a special deal which is unbelievably priced for how good the food is. You get rice, soup, kimchee, vegetables/mac salad, and 3 entrees for about $15. The employees are great and I have gotten to... More
