Better than the famous Matsumoto's up in Haleiwa

PROS: Taste. Best "Shave Ice" (no 'd') that we had on Oahu. We went here three times because it was so good. CONS: Size (?). The portions were perhaps a tad smaller than what we had at other places, but the quality is arguably better. OVERALL: Ice cream and a snow cap are recommended... read more

What's not to love about this delicious treat! We keep going back and back and back. Pretty soon we will have tried them all.

A presidential favorite, as well as for us when we visit Kailua and Lanikai on Oahu. Flavor choices are awesome...so delicious. We love all the tropical flavors(tangy orange, guava, and pineapple are my favorite combinations) with either vanilla or macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom...and always ask for a "snow cap" for your shave ice. Clean and friendly staff.... More

We were skeptical about people raving about snow ice on Oahu. I was expecting something like an icee or granular snow cones like we get at home. NOPE! Shave ice is different. We got several different flavors every time we went. The best so far was POG and the Lilikoi. Everything was so great. The snow cap really makes the... More

Came here as we were visiting Kailua. While I really liked it I must admit that I like Matsumoto shaved ice better. Value-wise, Island Snow is better as your standard price includes ice cream (and the day that we went, macadamia nut ice cream to boot) but I found the syrup to be a bit too sweet at Island Snow... You get an actual cup that doesn't drip down the sides and collapse with saturation. The best thing for me is cutting the calories with a good selection of sugar free syrups! You get ice cream and 3 flavors. There are add one too. Stop by when visiting Lanikai.

Go to Matsumoto's because it's an icon. When you're done, go to Island Snow in Kailua for the best shave ice experience you will ever have. Tons of flavors to mix and match, real, honest to goodness shaved ice, ice cream in the bottom and snow cap (sweetened condensed milk) on the top if you pay a little extra. Truly... More

As our first taste of shave ice, we could not have chosen better. Great fresh ice, underlaid by a scoop of ice cream, and soaked in three lively flavours of our choice. Good stuff. And popular every hour of the day.

Who can pass up a snow cone (shaved ice) on a hot day in Hawaii? Our president certainly can't so why should you? We always stop by when in the area for a local sweet treat. Flavors are wonderful and exotic and the ice shaved fine every time.

Bunch of nobumba-noids ...naive, libtards that think this is the best shave ice in HI. The best ones existed in the past. The cost of these shave ice is excessive. Make you own at home and the cost is far less and you can do a better tasting and flavorful and healthier shave ice!!!!
