Good food but overpriced

We had some lovely fresh seafood here. We enjoyed the meal and the view but it was just a little overpriced.

My husband and I had the steak and it was soooo amazing! It was my favorite! Loved the view of the ocean as well. As a cat person, also loved the cats begging for food. :)

Extremely nice service! We enjoyed talking to our server about his mainland family in Utah and his plans to visit Colorado this year! Family trip with a teenager, perfect place for food and beach experience. He gave us many tips on where to go and what to do while on the Big Island- thank you!

We had contacted Ola's prior to leaving the mainland to ensure they were able to accommodate us for the late arrival lunch menu. Thanks to manager Matt, we were set up on the beach and able to enjoy our meal and drinks as a total group. The food was great, plentiful and just enough to suffice as late lunch/early dinner.... The view is of the beach is very nice, and the restaurant is like a beach side bar. The menu is somewhat limited, having mainly hamburgers, poke and fish sandwich. I had the pork tacos and my husband had the fish sandwich, which were good, but nothing to write home about. Service was okay. The restaurant bathrooms are shared with... More

Our waiter was very nice but the service was so slow it was aggregating. When we did get the food it was just ok, my fish was dry. While the atmosphere is impressive I didn't plan on spending half the evening there.

Ola's idyllic setting makes it worth a visit for a drink. Their Chi Chi (coconut, pineapple juice) is excellent. Their overpriced menu is not, and the service we received was lousy. My wife's butterfish was very good, but the rice was barely warm. The three large shrimp that I had ordered ($34) arrived over-cooked on a bed of tepid pasta.... More

Great location - on the beach, but I'd probably only use the bar section next time. Food was a little overpriced for what you receive. Yes, they were large portions, however, portions in the USA are always quite large anyway. For the price, I'd be looking for more quality than what I received. Average, but it works given where you're... More

The restaurant is located directly on the beach and with the breeze coming in from the sea the atmosphere is very nice. The entrees are roughly $32 and above and in this price range you can expect something. At least we expected something, but our expectations were clearly not met... Here is why: The water was served in plastic cups,... More

The poke was good and so was the main dish, opah, which we chose to have with pasta, mushrooms and spinach. The service was excellent - especially considering that we were there 30 minutes before closing. We didn't feel rushed and enjoyed our meal.
