This is the Place for Poke

When we come to the North Shore, we have to stop and get our poke here! The place is not much to look at but that is part of the charm. The poke is the best - although this year they cuts were not as good and some skin still on some pieces. Still excellent spices and taste! Try it!

We stopped in here for a quick bite whilst on a tour and our guide recommended the spicy poke. I'm so glad he did because it was absolutely delicious!! It doesn't look very appetizing when you walk to the back of the supermarket, but once it's in the container and you're eating it, you won't even remember because it's that... More

I'll be honest - we drove by this place and were scared to go inside. It looks pretty dumpy on the outside but don't let that deter you. The onion poke bowl is one of the best meals we have had on this island. Only $7 and AMAZING!!! If you like raw tuna you need to try this, you won't... More

Don't let the car-swallowing potholes in the parking lot, or the dumpy appearance of this little local market fool you. Make your way to the back of the story where you will find a deli counter with the best Poke' in Hawaii - at the lowest price imaginable. Grab some. And a few beers. Head to the beach for a... More

I used to live in Hawaii and would always end trips to north shore with a stop to Kahuku Superette for the spicy ahi poke over rice. No trip back home is ever complete without at least one stop here. It's definitely worth the drive through Kahuku!

Best poke' I've ever had (the kimchi was mighty good too!) and the fresh Musubi turned my husband into an addict!

Ask for the most popular poke. They have several. It is the one that looks more brown and has white onion in addition to green onion. The other ahi poke is also good, but sweet. The most popular one has a great spice. Then leave. Go eat on the beach. This place is ugly and dirty.

The Foodland doesn’t sell alcohol down the street so we stopped here to grab a bottle of wine and some Jack Daniels. Unfortunately, the Superette only sells beer. Really? Is there no place to get wine or hard alcohol on this island? We ended up having to buy some overpriced wine from our hotel.

I hate to give this place a poor review, because it was charming and friendly, but many people told me to go here for the poke...so I did. I thought that the fish was not cut up very well, and found myself with hard to chew pieces in my mouth. I ended up throwing most of it away unfortunately.
