We wanted to try the shrimp from the side of the road. We waited 40 minutes to order the shrimp and then another 40 minutes to get it, it was delicious but goodness me! How long does it take to cook shrimp. We did enjoy the experience but hopefully find another place that delivers a bit quicker than they did.... More

This place is very popular with the locals, and the lines can get fairly long. But, good shrimp scampi over steamed rice. Even the kids will like it! Don't mind the wait-- it's worth it!

Second visit to Romy's. Last was 3 years ago. Not as good as I remembered. Not any line up to speak of, but still took a good 30-40 minutes. I guess it's a small kitchen but I can sauté shrimp at home in about 10 minutes. It's like they can only cook one batch at a time, which is fine,... More

A group of us were driving around the island and someone wanted to try Romy's so we all decided to make a stop. There's was a huge wait even though the line didn't look that long, I think we lined up for a good 40 minutes. We had wanted to get the garlic shrimp but was told that it would... More

Came to North Shore just to eat here. It was pouring all morning so the grounds were very muddy. I ordered the garlic shrimp and pineapple. I was told the shrimp would be 30 minutes. Not a cheap meal, but you wouldn't eat like this daily...The pineapple was super sweet. About 15 minutes later my # was called and I... More

If you're a tourist or local it's just a fun different thing to do for an afternoon. If your driving through Haleiwa it's a short drive past Turtle Bay. Look for the red sign on the left. There are a couple of other shrimp places but we've always gone to Romy's. They say they are the first to serve their... More

I liked that the shrimp was very fresh, but that is were it ended. They were out of the garlic shrimp so we went for the tempura and they were so greasy we could hardly eat them. Tables were so dirty I put napkins down and they became stuck and I could not remove them. I would pass on Romy's... More

Pretty good plate lunch..probably too much white rice without enough sauce but it was good. They provide a porta john and a big sink to wash your saucy fingers after which is nice. Too many flies to eat outside on some days.take it to go down the road to the beach.

I had the opportunity to sample the garlic shrimp plate which was very tasty but not exceptional. The shrimps are farmed locally and are served with the shell and heads on. Some of the shells weren't sliced which made them difficult to peel. Others weren't deveined. These don't compare to wild whole shrimp
