Selection was small. Took over a half hour for food. Expensive. Bathroom: portible from hell. But the shrimp tasted great.

If you are staying on the North Shore, finding places to eat can be challenging. We ate Romy's and really enjoyed our lunch. We met some very nice local people and they have a nice clean covered outdoor seating area. They can get very busy at times so we preferred to go early, around 11:00 am so there was hardly...

I heard some great recommendations about this place from the concierge, but I was a bit disappointed overall.
PROS:
- The shrimp was fresh.
- The staff was friendly.
- The food was hot.
- They had a sink outside that you could wash your hands at after you were done eating (a must since this will be a very...

The pre-ordered Shrimps/Prawns and other meal orders were so punctual for a group of 2 dozens. Hot and well handled including drinks plus what topped the service was the friendliness of the staff. I would go back for a meal at Romy's next time I'm in Hawaii again. My family members from different states in the USA and a family...

Stopped by Romys on the way from Honolulu to North Shore. I'm a big fan of shrimp growing up on the gulf coast so my criticisms may be a little bias - bare with me. You drive into Kahuku and you'll see these 'shrimp mobiles' on the side of the road, all selling local farm raised shrimp. We stopped at...

We stopped by Romy's on our way back to Honolulu after it was recommended by some folks at Turtle Bay resort. The Shrimp were huge and served on a large portion of brown rice with plenty of sauteed garlic and butter to provide a nice flavor. We enjoyed the food as well as the unique facility, which is some type...

My wife and I flew over from Maui for the day just to drive the North Shore area we'd visited before on another trip. In all candor, I haven't tried the other Garlic Shrimp spots mentioned here in TA. But I had heard from others that Romy's seemed to edge out Giovanni's for the best in class. So, we stopped...

We had to wait in line for 30 minutes to order our food and then another 30 minutes to get the food. The shrimps were bigger than what I usually see in the restaurants in the west coast (USA). The garlic shrimp was delicious! Well worth the wait!
In our recent trip to Oahu, we ate at several places that offer kahuku shrimp. This one cost more than the others and their shrimp lack some flavor. They serve a good portion but it was lacking something. We came here cause it was recommended by a friend but we didnt really like it. There was a shrimp truck down...

We ordered garlic shrimp, sweet and spicy shrimp, and fried Sun fish.
We will go back for garlic shrimp and Fried fish. Sweet and spicy was not spicy enough for our taste (tried Giovanni's, dangerously spicy but yum for us). The fried fish was REALLY good. Crispy outside and tender, juicy inside, cooked perfectly. It's a bit expensive, medium size...
