Went to Pap Ole's, next to the Long's, and tried the ribs, the garlic chicken, and the cheeseburger. All were good, but the clear favorite was the chicken. Went back a couple of days later for breakfast, pancakes huge and tasty, fried Spam just right. Eggs, omelets, all good. Not fancy, but this is what we like to find in... More

We decided to try Papa Ole's at the recommendation of some locals we met at a dive shop. Upon arrival you could tell it was going to be good food as there were tons of locals there enjoying meals with their families and friends. We tried some of the local foods and it was great! Not only that, the prices... More

SO YUMMY! Try the pancakes supreme with bananas, choc chips and mac nuts with a banana cream sauce. Or the omelet supreme with fried potatoes. The servings were very large, so you could easily share or take home leftovers. The atmosphere is very casual outdoor picnic tables, but the food is very worth the stop.

Nice little place to stop asking the North shore. Quite a cross section of beef, chicken, seafood, etc. all reasonably priced.

Had the Ribs on a picnic bench surrounded by bikers. It was fantastic. The ribs are a bit fast cooked, but still Hawaii yummy (would get a hanging in Georgia Lol) overall a cute atmosphere for a roadside diner.

We had the short ribs, fried chicken, and shrimp. It was all delicious. The rice was really good and so was the mac salad - the salad was a little too heavy for my taste, but I know that is the Hawaiian way. The local construction workers at the table next to us struck up a conversation and gave us... More

Local style food with local style service with a smile. We enjoyed the simple yet tasty burger and fries. My favorite is the garlic chicken. My nephew always gets the pulehu ribs. We never leave without taking home the famous peanut butter rolls! So Ono!

Family trip last week to Oahu with the family was magical. We went with the kids to papa ole's while visiting the PCC and BYU. My kids have yet to discover that food is much better when it doesn't come from a fast food chain. They were going to opt for Taco Bell while mom and I ate here. We... More

On every trip we take around Oahu this is where we stop for lunch. The staff is awesome and the food is delicious. You need to try the Big J's special which has Hawaiian Style pulehu ribs prepared with Hawaiian sea salt and grilled and a generous portion of shrimp with rice too. Another must try is their hot buns... More
