We always make it a point to stop there for some island favorites, always a line but the staff and menu makes it worth the minor inconvenience. Based upon a survey of the patrons, its a favorite of the folks in the area and tourist alike. Their steaks must be a winner since they've been out the last couple of... More

We went here on the recommendation of our tattoo artist down the street while on vacation in July 2014. Hubby got the Garlic Chicken which was excellent. I got the Pulehu Short Ribs. Service was good. People kept coming in and getting big trays of food which is always a good sign. Indoor and outdoor seating. Totally bummed they didn't... More

Great local food, tasty and fresh. Very busy restaurant for it's size. Locals frequent the place, driving for more than 80 miles to enjoy the food. The garlic chicken plate is my favorite.

We stayed on the North Shore recently and the owners of our beach house recommended Papa Ole's. We were not disappointed! Breakfast was fabulous - amazing pancakes, french toast and omlette's. Huge portions, great quality food and freshly cooked. Staff were friendly and welcoming and free wifi while you wait. Our only problem was what to do when they had... More

Presentation of food and place not great but food was the best I tasted while on the north shore. If you want to experience what the locals eat a place you must go to

My Hubby loves Pancakes, and Papa Ole's makes the best in the area. They are 1 inch thick, light and fluffy but tender. Try the Macadamia Nut and Banana. Servings are huge. We took half our breakfast home and had it the next day....just as good almost. I had an omelet with home fries. Also good for 2 breakfasts. Prices... More

Based on reviews, I expected something local, simple and tasty. However, the food was not so great. Greasy burned ribs and meet with big portion of tasteless rice and macaroni salad?!? This is not a local cuisine. Rice and macaroni are not what Hawaiian food is.The food is adopted for American travelers who do not usually cook at home,so they... More

First trip to the North Shore and the locals suggested Papa Ole's. We were not disappointed. I had the J special (ribs and shrimp) and my wife had the garlic shrimp. I'm a big eater and was very satisfied with the portion size. My wife could not finish and loved the rich flavor. There is a wait for the food... More

Don't pass this up on the way to the north shore!!! The Kalbi ribs are incredible. We had a couple of other dishes there that were tasty as well. Great local food and worth the wait!

Whole family loved it. The ribs are simple and awesome. The garlic shrimp is delicious, but not shelled. (Bummer) Teriyaki chicken excellent. Order to table was almost 40 minutes….But we weren't in a hurry, or it would have been 3 stars.
