Voted one of Oahu's best by Honolulu Star Advertiser four consecutive years, BANZAI Sushi Bar is truly one of Haleiwa's best kept secrets. Tucked away in a back corner of the North Shore Marketplace, casual fine dinning, outdoor covered seating with Japanese-style seating on Zabuton pillows or conventional tables, diners relax all while watching surf videos and enjoy live local musicians on the weekend. BANZAI uses local organic produce when ever possible and has their very own Hawaiian fish buyer who presents himself on a daily basis at the worlds largest Tuna fish auction here in Honolulu allowing them to serve the freshest fish almost immediately. With one of Hawaii's best Sake selections, any sushi lover and sake connoisseur will be in pure nirvana. Dont miss BANZAI Sushi Bar on your next visit to Oahu's North Shore in Historic Haleiwa Town.

Amazing atmosphere

Very good sushi. Great service. The atmosphere here is what makes it so wonderful though. Something about sitting on a pillow, eating sushi on North Shore. Doesn't get much better.

Great sushi, love the poke platter and the Banzi roll. They do late night chill vibe. You can sit on the floor or at a table or belly up to the bar. Late night music

Incredibly delicious food, awesome service (hottie surfer waiter), and I loved sitting on the ground on the pillows. Loved the giant screen showing surfing videos and the chill vibe overall. Seemed like a nice mix of locals wanting a bit of a splurge and tourists who did their research. I'd go here again and again!

Decided to get dressed up and head out for a nice meal. We shared 4 small items and had one drink each. It was good but not $90 good. It was our most expensive meal out and it did not make my top 5 in Oahu. No complaints though...I love sushi and the atmosphere is nice. The service was good.

One of the local staff at the Turtle Bay resort suggested Banzai as an option for us in Haleiwa. We got there around 8:30 on a Wednesday night and the place was rockin with a local vibe. Our table was on the covered front lanai/ porch where most were seated. We were immediately waited upon and our teenage girls ordered... More

We had an amazing and laid back lunch at Banzai. Delicious cucumber salad and great sushi. Go for the non- standard rolls! We had the Crispy Ahi and the Bonzai rolls. Truly amazing and the price wasn't bad either - not cheap but not out of line for the quality. Worth a stop if you are driving around the north... More

They open at noon Sunday, I was the first in the door. Difficult to find as it's off a busy strip and is not visible from the road. Sat at the bar, chef very helpful and made good suggestions. Among other excellent choices, had a lightly seared local caught Marlin i'd never seen before on the mainland, at the chef's... More

On our last day before flying back to the mainland (not happy about that!), we drove to the north shore and decided to explore Haleiwa. We came across this great little restaurant and had an absolutely great meal! We had sushi at a restaurant in Waikiki and were disappointed because we ate at one of their restaurants in Maui and...
