They sat five of us at a high bar table meant for three and the Service was slow. The food was served in stages as it was made, so everyone got their food independent of the other. Three of us were finished eating before the other two even got their order. Giving three stars as the food was good, but... More

Banzai has a nice variety of sushi, sashimi, and rolls. For Haleiwa, the prices were quite reasonable and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Service was good and the waitstaff are efficient but not overbearing. They even have a few different types of poke including ahi tuna and octopus. Definitely a place I would go to again.

This was nice — I got the Banzai nigiri sushi and mom got the salmon. The only downside was I don't like mayo in the crab in a California roll. Otherwise the sushi was fresh and tender. The miso soup was excellent, and they had a nice variety of desserts to choose from. I opted for the green tea ice... More

Nice if you need to relax and take your time. They had fun floor seating, but it was a little less fun after sitting for so long waiting for our food (tempura and sushi rolls). We got the dessert with tempura banana and coconut milk ice cream. LOVED it!

Cons: didn't take reservations and was crowded! Pros: Courteous staff that was more than helpful in recommending food and drinks! We had 3 rolls, Hawaii roll ($14), Banzai roll ($11), and Gnarly Marley roll ($14). They were all fabulous and worth every penny! This place also had live music the night we were there, local duo and they were awesome!... More

We ate at Banzai a couple of times during our recent North Shore vacation. It's a little pricey, but we discovered their happy hour specials. Many of their sushi rolls are half-price during happy hour, and it made the meal much more affordable. Service and the quality of the food was great.

Sushi rolls were good. Other items could be a bit better - calamari didn't have enough sauce, kobe beef gyoza couldn't have been more pedestrian. Staff was friendly, and the restaurant has a hip vibe. Just don't expect world class sushi, just a good little beach side place.

Excellent sushi and sashimi, ask the chef what's the best, i had Tasmanian salmon that was superb. The tuna was also good, but a little pricey. The tempura not so good. Friendly service and a nice setting adds to the charm of the place. Suspect it would get busy over the North Shore peak winter season.

On the weekends, we love to take a nice drive to the country and stop over at the Haleiwa Marketplace. For years, I had been skeptical about trying this restaurant because I thought that this might be a "tourist trap" w/ steep prices and mediocre food. I was definitely wrong. The fish is fresh. The sushi rolls are heavenly -... More

Once you walk up the steps you realize that you will be sitting outside on the deck. It may be cooler to eat here at night. The server was quick to serve glasses of water. That was appreciated. We ordered 3 rolls. The Hawaiian, spicy Tuna, and Philadelphia roll. The fish was fresh and the spicy mayo was good. Cost... More
