Get your hands tasty

Saw this truck on the way to North Shore beaches. I'm glad we did stop and enjoy the meal. It's right next do to 7-11....get drinks. Priced btwn $13 to $17 for a plate. Tell them to add garlic to the rice and shrimp. It tastes so heavenly. Plenty of shaded seating. There's a communal sunk near... read more

We just spent two weeks in Honolulu/Waikiki. Macky's was recommended to us my the locals, and I want to pass that recommendation on as it was one of my favorite flavorful places to eat. In Haleiwa, it is the first truck on the right as you come in on the old road. Doesn't look like much, with covered picnic tables... More

Visited Hawaii last week and we were told to try some of the food trucks. "Definitely don't miss Giovani's", So like any tourists with friendly advice we went there and were actually impressed, the lemon pepper shrimp is awesome there. But if you want Garlic Shrimp then Macky's if the place to go! After trying it while passing through the... More

I'm going back to Hawaii just so I can eat some of this shrimp again!!! It was so fresh and delicious! The garlic shrimp was to die for! Be sure to check the guidebooks for $2 off coupons, if they're still available. Even my 9 year old enjoyed the meal here. Perfect ending to a day at the beach.

Didn't even know North Shore shrimp trucks were a thing but stumbled upon Mackey's when driving around the island. Good food, pretty big parking lot, and plenty of tables set up outside. I can see it getting pretty busy with tourists but we ordered and got our food pretty fast and it didn't disappoint. Well prepared shrimp, rice, a small... More

Great food but the staff couldn't care less about you, almost half the tables are regularly reserved for tour buses and there are always tons of tourists pouring out of buses. Come when no buses are here or you won't enjoy the experience.

Garlic and lemon shrimp with salad and two scoops rice for 12 bucks. Basic yet incredible. They don't drown the rice in the butter like Giovanni.

The shrimp was great! We arrived for a late lunch at 2:30 and most of the tables were full. They have five flavors for the shrimp and our group had one of each. The favorites were the spicy and the garlic and butter, but you can't go wrong with any of them. The food is cooked fresh and is well... More

You gotta hit Macky's when on the North Shore. They have the best ship of any of the trucks. Their butter garlic, lemon pepper, and spicy platters are the most popular. A serving comes with like a dozen large local shrimp, two scoops rice and a little veg. Get here early as the large tourists buses will roll in and... More

A must try. The food is simply made, but really really good. I had the spicy shrimp plate. My daughter had the plain shrimp. Both were devoured. I wish there were an option to split up a shrimp order between two different flavors though. But I suppose that just means we'll have to keep returning to try them all! I... More
