The North Shore has no shortage of 'shrimp trucks', but THIS is the truck to seek out. It's tucked away past most of the businesses in Haleiwa, next to the last gas station as you leave town. The Spicy Shrimp is TOP NOTCH! We drove through the pouring rain and were just in time to get the last order of... More

I had heard that when on the North Shore of Oahu you needed to eat at a shrimp truck. Based on reviews I read we stopped at mackys in Haleiwa. The menu is short but sweet. My wife and I both had the garlic shrimp and she is still talking about it. Step up to the window, place your order,... More

Excellent! We had the coconut shrimp and the garlic butter shrimp...delicious and very filling. I would have eaten at Macky's every day if my wife would have let me.

What a surprise. You can't judge this book by its cover. Great shrimp dishes are delivered through the window of this battered food truck parked in a dirt parking lot beside the 7-11. We have stopped in twice after a day of hiking in the North Shore. Butter Garlic Shrimp is the best but spicey is also good. Hope to... More

I've been coming to the North Shore for a few years & Mackey's is the hands down winner. Skip everything else on the menu & go straight for the garlic shrimp. Fun fact: when Mackey's truck used to be in Kahuku a scene from Lost was shot there.

Driving to the North Shore, we saw a car park filled with SUV's, vans, cars and buses and a little caravan with a big shrimp along the side. Having to stop we ordered 2 plates of shrimp took a seat and these would have to have been some of the best and sweetest shrimp i've tasted. delicious. The order taker... More

Enjoyed the garlic shrimp plate (they were out of coconut shrimp). The shrimp tasted fresh, buttery, maybe a bit too much garlic. The rice and salad were fine. The "washstand" is sort of behind the truck, primitive at best. A Schultzie provides for other needs. The wheels on the truck had vines growing thru them, obviously this vehicle has not... More

I just had the Original (steamed shrimp) here, instead of the better known garlic shrimp. The shrimp was properly cooked; not tough (as I found at some other local shrimp trucks) from overcooking, and it came with rice and a decent cocktail sauce for dipping. Popular with Japanese tourist bus trips so can be crowded, but I had very fast... More

My family (husband and teenager) and I decided to taste 5 shrimp trucks on the North Shore of Oahu in one day. At each truck we got the same thing - garlic & butter shrimp and shared one plate. Macky's is good - it came in 2nd place. The shrimp here was the best tasting by far, but their garlic... More
