Still trying to get the coconut shrimp

I always get the garlic shrimp plate or the lemon pepper shrimp or the original shrimp. But I haven't been able to try the coconut shrimp. They have it on the menu but I doubt if they really serve it. They always say "It's sold out" But I have was there when it opened! And I have never seen... read more

Heard about this shrimp truck and tried both the spicy (which wasn't that spicy but to each his own) and the coconut shrimp which was tasty. We enjoyed both but preferred to have the shrimp peeled. Service was quick and we did not suffer under the flies which I have read about in other reviews.

Live on JBPHH but had family in town so took them up to Haleiwa. Stopped here for a late lunch and had the amazing garlic shrimp. Parking and seating can be hard to come by even at 1400 but so worth the hassle. My second trip and I'll be back again.

Great shrimp, great flavour, the rice was also excellent. The line wasn't too long when we arrived, and after we had ordered, a tour bus pulled up, but it seems they had pre-ordered (thank goodness), and all their food was already ready to go. I'd definitely visit this place again.

This was tied for number one out of the trucks wwe visited, definitely best for flavor and fun. A word of caution, all the tourist buses stop here and the line can get long, but fun to see sixty people pile out and munch shrimp. Best flavor we found, better bugger shrimp at other stops. Staff here was definitely not... More

On my first visit to the island, I was thinking, what's the deal with all these shrimp trucks? But then I saw more and more people surrounding these trucks, so I figured it must be good food then. I've never eaten from trucks or from the road before, but what a surprise? On my way back to the airport, we... More

The truck is parked next to a 7-11 off the circle coming into the entrance of Hialiewa. It doesn't look like anything special but it is the quintessential fast shrimp plate! 6 or 7 types of shrimp. The coconut shrimp always sells out early (usually before 1) because they have a deal with the japanese tour operators that bring busloads... More

This food truck was a nice surprise. The place is in the middle of the road. When you get there you cannot imagine how the food is delicious. We ate a butter garlic shrimp that was simply wonderful! And the price is unbelievable! The dish was USD13!

The shrimp trucks on Oahu's North Shore are legendary and should be on the list of food experiences for anyone visiting Oahu. I checked out local tourist information in choosing Macky's as one of the trucks we wanted to eat at. I had spent the day in Laie and took the bus to Haleiwa to the last stop on Weed... More

the place isn't beautiful but it is kept original which makes it a beauty in an island. Always crowded but it's all worth it.
