Friendly, Fast, Tasty

El Charro is a locaed in Aiea Shopping near Aiea bowling alley. Food is prepared quick and the taste is excelent. The pollo poblano is really good, I order it almost every time. The restraunt is small so seating is limited.

We went here with a group of friends. My order arrived in about 15 minutes but my wife's plate did not come out until an hour after she ordered it and my food had gone cold. The server never checked in on us to explain why or to refill our drinks. The food tasted average and we had to pay... More

The food is always delicious and the customer service is outstanding. I've tried every Mexican Restaurant on Island and this is definitely the best!

Went in for a margarita and lunch today (April 4th) and what a great experience. The bar is very tiny only enough for four people, but the margaritas were good. We drank at the bar. You can drink at a table, if you want. Went on to a booth for lunch and I had the carnitas and my husband had... More

Visited for lunch. I had the red cheese enchiladas. Friend had a chicken tamale. Both items came with rice, refried beans and salsa. Both dishes were very tastey without being overly spicey. Portions were medium sized. Liquor/beer is also available. With one beer each, our tab came to approx. $32 with tip. The menu had a wide range of items... More

College town Mexican atmosphere. Simple interior. But wow was it ever good food! Quick service.

El Charro is a locaed in the upper Aiea Shopping complex next to a bowling alley. The overall atmosphere is basic with typical Mexican culture decor. Now the important facts... As others have noted, Hawaii does not, unfortunately, have a large Mexican restaurant selection. El Charro has a pretty good selection of the basics, plus a few unique items, like... More

We love the stuffed jalapeños! It wasn't on the menu before but I think it is now. We order it without the seeds but if you want it super hot then order it with the seeds. The salsa they give you with chips is very good. We usually order the enchiladas and nachos. The prices are really reasonable and they... More

Where to begin? El Charro is owned and operated by a gentleman from San Antonio, Texas who prepares his grandmother's recipes. Enough said. The food was delicious, hot, came out swiftly and the menu had ample choices. Even the token whole beans and rice didn't disappoint. True mexican cuisine is flavorful yet not flaming hot from spices and gimmicks. This... More
