Quick Lunch

Was visiting my daughter in Oahu (Navy) and met her for lunch. Between 3 of us, we had some pretty good brisket and fish and chips. Plenty of food and fun to try all the bbq sauces. Good, quick service. A lot of military locals were there.

After hearing people rave about Dixie Grill we decided to check it out. Upon entering I realized that it was a bar atmosphere with a booths and tables. I ordered a side salad, fries, and beef brisket. The salad was a sad little dish with dressing that did nothing to jazz it up. The meal came with the meat, fries,... More

Had lunch with family. Food is okay. I can make better at home as anyone from the "south" can. Decoration and atmosphere is fun. Nice "mainland" feel for those not wanting to eat the local food stuff

We had our first lunch there. And we couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of our trip. I really loved my burger. And my fiancée fell in love with his. I don't remember the exact name of mine, it was with avocado, turkey and cranberry jam. Imma try this at home ;) We really enjoyed the variety of... More

I can't help but get my foodie hopes up each time I try a new restaurant that purports to bring me a little slice of food heaven straight from the mainland. But alas, after so many disappointments here, you'd think I'd learn my lesson: We are in Hawaii and the only thing authentic here is Asian fusion cuisine. Which brings... More

I enjoyed two trips to Dixie Grill in Aiea on Oahu, HI. I was there in September 2015 for their seafood fest. The king crab legs and sides were wonderful. I was there again in November and December 2015 with friends from work. We all had different BBQ meats. The "burnt ends" were great but go early in the day... More

We made the mistake of not taking a snack before spending four-five hours touring the Pearl Harbor Museum and USS Missouri. By then, we were starving and picked the first place to pop up on the GPS. The decor was certainly appealing and the wait staff nice, but neither of us were pleased with our $27 worth of lunch meals.... More

This is my favorite place to eat on the island! I love their pulled pork sandwich and the staff is always amazing. I've never had a bad experience at the restaurant and I will keep coming back!

As a mainlander I long for smoked brisket, collard greens and fried okra. The Dixie Grill is about as close to as you get searving up my comfort foods. I like the burnt ends brisket partially slathered with the southwest Texas barbeque sauce. The cheesecake isn't half bad either. It is somewhat of a laid back roadhouse kinda place where... More
