My wife and I love Mexican food and El Mariachi 2 when our previous favorite Mexican place, Bandito's, closed down. The food was fresh and homemade: my wife had a chimichanga and I had the carnitas. Both were delicious and non-greasy. The refried beans were smooth and well-seasoned. The Spanish rice was fluffy. The sauces were bright and delicious. The... More

We finished running around Honolulu and decided we were hungry. Grabbed my handy smartphone and did a search and found this place was fairly close to where we were. Thought we would give it a try. We walked in and were greeted as soon as we hit the door, whisked to a table, drink orders taken and served right away.... More

Not sure if they changed cooks or recipes but it seems to taste better than just a couple of months ago. We had carnitas and carne asada and both were cooked perfectly. My only complaint is the refried beans were tasteless. Service also improved. Biggest complaint!!! They charge for extra chips and salsa!!! $1.50 for extra salsa.

We stopped in before heading to the airport. We'd had our fill of Hawaiian food and wanted some good Mexican food. We were all really happy with what we got, everything was yummy! My daughter and I had chimichangas, my son had taquitos and my husband had a huge burrito. Being from the Southwest we were really pleased with this... More

Hate to complain about authenticity of Mexican food in Hawaii but this wasn't close. Food had very little flavor and the location is almost impossible to find without calling them. Average rating because the service is outstanding and price is reasonable, especially in Hawaii.

We decided to give El Mariachi a try at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. What a mistake. We were one of five families dining in the resaurant. 45 minutes after we ordered our food, I requested to have our meal placed in to-go boxes. Once we arrived home I found that one of the meals was missing all of the sides... More

Well I have to say this place was definitely not easy to find, and even with the GPS I had to rely on the kindness of strangers to guide us to the front door. The sign wasn't that noticeable at night, and literally it's in a strip mall of shops off the street. We were happy to find the place... More

Found this Mexican restaurant Sunday after Church. Very good food and service. I am a Mexican food fanatic and this place serves authentic Mexican food. A plus is it is a BYOB restaurant. A little hard to find but is worth it. I would heartily recommend.

We went on a Saturday night and though the place filled up quickly, they seemed to manage the flow well and there was no line waiting. The staff was friendly, and the food was good. We had the papaya avocado salsa for appetizer and it was very delicious. The ambience could have been improved quite significantly if they could play... More

Had dinner with my wife. Decent atmosphere and very good chips and salsa prior to the meal. Taste of the food was good. My wife enjoyed her enchalada, but the shredded pork in my tacos was terribly dry and tough; bordering on inedible. Might have been an off night, but it really spoiled my experience. Of course I complained; was... More
