Was great until kitchen fire caused closure, has been closed over a year, still has a bar. The views and oceanfront location are exceptional.
To start with the good, the location is stunning! Great ocean view and music early in the evenings on Fridays. The menu is very limited, which would be ok if they hadn't run out of over half their nine menu offerings (including rice, hamburgers, and mahi mahi). When my chicken arrived, it was completely RAW and the waitress was very... More
...how could this be such a highly rated restaurant. They now offer food that is cooked on the grille - mahi mahi, chicken, hamburgers, & a deluxe hot dog - sandwiches or a dinner plate. Limited fare, obviously, but tasty and good quantity.
We went to the Hotel Molokai for Aloha Friday. It's THE place to be Friday, from 4 to 6. We each had a blended lillikoi margarita ($10.50). I had the grilled chicken and my wife had the grilled mahi sandwiches. They came with onion, tomato, lettuce, pickle spear and a bag of chips. They were good but not exceptional. The... More
I’m pleased to hear that you enjoyed the music and the view during your dinner with us! Thank you for posting your review, I appreciate it. Aloha Friday is extremely popular (as you stated it is THE place to be on Fridays!) and we recognize that the complimentary parking can be a challenge during this time period. Spaces do become... This is obviously THE place to be on Friday at 330-4 pm. Parking lot was packed. You walk in the front of the Hotel Molokai, a little ways east of the main town. In the courtyard, local ladies have tables set up selling locally-made soaps or jewelry- preview for the Farmers Market on Saturday, it seems. Some nice things, but... More
I was recently here without knowing I was here! I mean: Since the restaurant had been closed for a long time, which I'd known in advance, I was thinking I was just enjoying the bar and Friday evening Music gathering with Lono and Kūpuna at Hotel Moloka'i. And I was in fact 'here'! Now what can I add to reviews... More
This is a must if you are on Molokai on a Friday afternoon as the Aloha Friday spirit is definitely here. They have entertainment by the group, Na Kapuna which consists around 10 members who play the slack guitar and/or ukulele and there is a lead singer who sings to many familiar Hawaiian and American tunes. He dedicates songs to... More
The original restaurant at the Aqua Hotel Molokai burned down in 2012 and is in the planning stage to rebuild it in the future. So, here we are at "Hula Shores Bar & Grill" which is a outdoor restaurant that can accommodate about 50 or more people. We were having dinner on a Friday evening when they were celebrating "Aloha... Since there is still no permanent kitchen they only serve a very limited menu certain times of the week. This was Friday early evening after the music; I ordered the cheeseburger and it was very good, I was pleasantly surprised. All three of us were pleased and enjoyed our sandwiches. Although as busy as a bee, our waiter could not... More
the kitchen had a fire so this place is currently closed. keep hearing the renovation will start but sorry to say nothing happening as of today! cannot beat this location right on the water. food is not consistant and plate compostion seriously lacking on some entries=no vegetables on many dinner plates. gone are the days of the nice salad bar...
