Best Banana Bread

We got here shortly before it opened. We were driving the northwest of Maui and started the journey very early and we knew we didn't want to miss out on Julia's after hearing how awesome it was from our guidebook. We were exploring the blowhole and olivine pools and decided to follow the signs to "Julia's Banana Bread," and I'm so glad we did! We drove down one lane road for awhile, and the sights were absolutely beautiful. We saw children playing in the street once we were close, so keep you eyes out! The bread was delicious!!

A local told us Julia closes down around 4. This was at 4. We trusted the website and went anyway (website says 5:30). Now we think the local just wanted the bread to herself! ha ha (she lived around there). So good! A long, narrow, winding round full of amazing vistas, and then this little bright green stand out of... More

Continue driving past the blow-hole, through the local territory. The bread is moist and sweet. I cannot say that it is the best banana bread I have ever had, but we were able to sample absolutely everything from her cart. The drive (while dangerous) offered some of the best vistas I have ever seen. Magnificent experience overall...

The drive is worth one of the best banana bread loafs on the island. The flavored lemonade (particularly the passion orange guava) is also notable.

The drive began from Kapalua and it was a dreamy sunlit morning. So off we go but little did we know a large portion of the drive was on a single lane road with two way traffic. OMG! We took the drive slow and were very lucky we only came upon a few cars going the opposite way! The banana... More

Banana bread is really delicious and put some Kiliao'i butter on it and it steps it up a notch! The coconut candy is delicious as is the macodamia & cashew nuts.... this truly is a "support local business" opportunity.... Wish I had more time to talk with the locals. They have a website so you can send all of these... More

If you're afraid of driving on a one lane road with no guardrail and steep cliff off to the side, grab a brave driver and close your eyes. But she has the most delicious taro chips I have ever tasted. Plus the banana bread and butter are phenomenal. We also ate mixed plates and drank the fresh lemonade while we... More

Seriously, stop here. Once you see the green stand, pull over and sample the deliciousness that Julia has to offer. Not only is the banana bread delicious, but the coconut candy was like crack. I couldn't stop eating it! And the cashews were amazing too. I came home and saw I could order them online... worth it to take a... More
