We love to eat "local" when we go on vacation! I tried this place based on tripAdvisor reviews... and was NOT disappointed! The food is delicious, the prices very reasonable, and super friendly service with a smile. Sharing your table with some a local, or other lucky tourist who found their way into this place... well, that's just a bonus!

Paia Fish Market Restaurant offers Excellent fresh seafood for little money. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a little bit like in the fishmarket but this is very charming. You order your food at the register and then wait until it's cooked. The portions are big and affordable. It is also good for Takeaway!

Very casual dining but the seafood was delicious. A couple we met on vacation told us about this place. We liked it so much that we ended up going back twice. We had the fish tacos the one night and then the ono burgers for lunch (both delicious!). The restaurant is very casual, you order up front and then eat... More

If your looking for a great meal, in a fun setting this is the place. Fish is fresh and cooked to perfection. Seating is at a Picnic style tables - so not fancy but my taste buds loved it. A must stop when your on the island.

We love coming to Paia for the Fish and Chips and for any fish dish for that matter. It's delicious and they have their ordering system down. We live it when we come here, they take your order, you get your table, wait for your number to be called and "presto" your meal is in front of you waiting to... More

This is a very casual place, you may have to share a table with strangers . You place your order and then sit down and wait for your number to be called, we both ordered the fish and chips and loved it. The fish was Mahi Mahi and barely breaded and then fried. Don't expect fluffy batter or breading on... More

Don't miss this. It's worth the wait. I had fish tacos which were unbelievably good. My friend had the Mahi fish burger, which was also delish. Great atmosphere on the main corner of this adorable town.

The food was really great, the service was basically, "Put in your order, get a number and wait for it to be called, then sit at long tables with, soon not to be strangers :-)" Different, not for everybody, reminded me a bit of Scottish Fish'n'Chip shops, definately fun. And did I mention that the food was really great, we... More

Great prices for fish! You stand in line to order, sit at picnic tables with other customers you don't know, and watch to pick up your order when it's ready. Delicious & good value.

Don't miss this local landmark. Fresh fish, cooked to perfection, and even chicken for those not interested in fish. The menu offers so many options that it may be hard to choose. Place your order at the counter and you don't have to wait long for your number to be called. Then share a seat at the long tables and... More
