This place is a little gem. Casual, relaxing, and superb food. Almost catches you off guard when you find it. Great for lunch or a snack.

Hi Folks. Try their breakfast burrito. It was so good, I had it twice...Both Excellent...Both Different. They make their chutney different each week. Ask what kind it is first before you order as some of it is more peppery than others. My wife had strawberry crepe twice and loved it both times. The menu is a somewhat quirky combo of... More

Typically, I steer clear of cafe environments for dining. It's probably because here in the U.S., many of my cafe experiences have been o.k. for beverage consumption, but lack in customer service/food preparation. Cafe Des AMIS has me rethinking my stance on cafes altogether! Great staff. Choose to sit inside or outdoors. Laid back but colorful atmosphere. Highly recommend: Smoothies—all... More

Shared the Mediterranean appetizer platter with a glass of wine for a mid afternoon snack. The food was good. The service was a bit slow, and not that attentive, but we were not in a hurry and enjoyed sitting in the outdoor courtyard.

Espresso must be a big word for them because it surely doesn't taste like espresso. I can't comment on the food because we only tried the coffee. However I can say the staff wasn't attentive. We walked in and no one greeted us, and no sign tells you what to do, so I approached the counter where the cash register... More

Horrible food. We ordered Beef and Mushroom Curry, Shrimp Curry and some appetizers. So called curry over sticky tasteless rice with peaces of cold, chewy meat and some pitas. Shrimp curry was served over rice that you need to break to pieces with few rubber shrimps floating around. It literally took me a few days to digest this stuff. The... More

We ate here twice while in Pa'ia. First time was lunch, and we had curries, both great, and the shrimp curry was especially good. Tasty margarita, too. Second time was at night -- same menu, different items, but also quite good. There's a nice outdoor seating area that's fairly well sheltered from sun and rain.

Cafe Des Amis has a lot to offer--Mediterranean influenced cuisine, curries, coffees, but I always go for the crepes which are delicious. Good prices, fantastic location (in the heart of Paia), eat outside and people watch!

After having to reschedule spending time with my friend multiple times, I knew that setting some time aside for girl talk had to be a priority and with such a build up, I wanted our time together to be a special treat. With that, she traveled from West Maui and I from South Maui to meet on Maui’s North Shore... More

We' ve been always served with a smile in the face from the people who worked there. Best products have been put together to serve excellent food! We've been there a couple of times and we will definetely go there a couple of times before we leave home. It doesn't matter if for breakfast or dinner - the food is... More
