i've been coming here for over 20 years and it's always the same - it is, in a word, a doughnut shop, and that's what makes it so amazing! there used to be another genuine article in makawao that closed in the last few years - komoda's kaukau korner - mmm mmm - I salivate at the memory of all... We stopped at this little place during our last day on Maui. Wish we would have gone sooner. They have great doughnuts and the best cream puffs. Service was quick and efficient. Love this little place.

The Hawaiian buns are a must have. Cream puffs, any of the donuts on a stick. We bought some, ate them in the car & went back in to get more for a snack later! A must stop! We told a lot of people about this place while in Maui.

We got there 10 minutes before closing and since they are closed on Sundays they had very limited selection. We got the pastries on sticks which were delicious and also some of their packaged macadamia nut cookies which were also fabulous. Definitely worth the stop.

If you want to visit a genuine Hawaiian bakery & store, you have to stop by here and buy some morning treats (donuts, cookies, etc) or bread. By the way, every thing they make is delicious and a real treat. Besides being a bakery, they are also a general grocery store. They seem to have been in business forever, but... More

We were there too late for the goodies so picked up some cookies and sweet rolls instead. I love macadamia nuts and there are bits of it in every bite of the cookie! We heated up the sweet rolls and they were so soft and buttery. Definitely get there for the fresh goodies.

Oh my goodness....just remember not on Wednesdays or Sundays they are closed. Other than that the best fresh buttery sweet and airy cream puff pastries ever! Love Komodas! There is a line out the door in the morning for a reason folks.

Well i have been trying to loose weight and this place just doesn't help! I am a sucker for a good cream puff. They have chocolate and van. The donuts on the stick is awesome and the Cakes are...WOW..

Make sure you come early or you'll miss on the best Guava Pastries you'll ever have. The bakery is small, family owned so you have to serve yourself, then go pay. All the baked goods are good.

We made the drive to Makawao just to try this bakery. I am not sure it was worth it. The baked goods were nice, but not life changing. I ordered in advance, so that I could try everything that interested me. I tried: guave malasadas, stick donut, long johns and chocolate cream puffs. The guava filed pastry and the long... More
