Eating at the casual and funky Makawao sushi and deli is a real delight. Every year I visit maui and every year I eat there about every third day. The sushi is delicious ,the quality of fish is outstanding and I go with my maui friends and munch and laugh and enjoy. What a pleasure it is and everyone who... More

We had the rainbow roll and salmon skin roll both of which were very good. The rainbow roll was more expensive than usual but worth it given that the fish was fresh and it wasn't loaded with rice. Now the down side why we won't be back. The ambiance was unappetizing in that the waitress/cashier/owner (?) looked very worn down... More

This is where locals go to get Sushi, you will not be papered, and will not be blown away by the atmosphere. What I can assure you is that you will have some of the best sushi you will ever eat at prices that don't get any lower for such high quality fish. Relax, you are in Maui, enjoy the... More

Nice low key sushi bar and restaurant . Great sushi. Popular place for the locals. Must bring your own wine.

When you rate sushi, the foremostcriteria has to be freshness. The fish was delicious. Miso soup, too. We ordered take out on two occasions, so cannot comment on the service or atmosphere in the restaurant, but service and ease of take out order was fine. Sushi is an ideal Maui meal and Makawao Sushi didn't disappoint.

Poke was excellent. Atmosphere not so much. Service could be better. We were not disappointed in this little find.

The rudest service ever. Wow. it ended up we were in shock and then laughing So hard because it was almost comical. She never changes and we go because we like to see just how bad it can get.

I really like this place and eat here on each trip to Maui. It is a bit out of the way, and that is part of the ambiance I like. It is not a high-end LA style sushi bar, it has its own local flair; It is a family run business. You will see a couple trends from the reviews... More

The service from the time we sat at our table until we left was less than friendly. We ordered the Chef choice sashimi which was fresh, nato (fermented soybeans) sushi, and unagi. The cost of the meal was quite expensive for the portion of the dishes, especially the nato sushi was extremely expensive ($6 for six thin nato sushi about... More
