What has become of Roy's is just sad. It may be a sign of the times but you can no longer charge top dollar and employ unskilled cooks and serve sub-standard food based on nothing but a name. Roy is finding this out the hard way as the unit in Kihei recently closed. If they started serving food like this... more

Ate here last night. Waiter Chris was excellent. Two different managers stopped by the table to check satisfaction. Ahi tuna seared to perfection but accompanying rice cake was gummy....maybe it needs to be that way to hold its shape? Told Chris about it and he promised to pass it on to the kitchen. Decor is Hawaiian nouveau, I didn't care... more

First, the food was wonderful. I had the fish trio, with Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi, Steamed Opah and Blackened Ahi. Dessert was Banana Cream. Yum! Almost as important was the service. I was expecting to go out for a nice dinner, but anticipating the hassle of containing and entertaining my two- and four-year-old myself. Instead, Roy's embraces the spirit of... more

I dont think I have ever had a meal the wasnt fine at any Roys, but the Roys in Kapalua is the best. We always leave finding the food excellent. Its also a fine restaurant that your children will enjoy as well, mine ask to go there again and again. Objections Ive heard 1) Its not on the water answer:... more

My husband enjoyed one of the best meals here during our 10 day honeymoon. The food was outstanding. I can say I have never been to a restaurant where the food comes out and its still so hot - and we frequent many high end NYC restaurants. The waitress was so helpful and even talked my husband into trying sushi... more

Every time we are in Maui we eat at Roys, the fish is always great, please try the appetizer Ahi with the butter/soy/mustard, it is to die for. Yes, it is in a shopping center no view, the advantage is you can eat later without having to worry about missing the sunset. With the Roys in Bonita Springs Fl, the... more

My wife and I went to Roy's in Kahana for the second time. The first time was about ten years ago. In many ways, it hasn't changed, and as was ten years ago the food was simply outstanding. The service was impeccable, with the waiter being extremely patient in answering lots of questions about the different types of fish offered... more

I was soooooo excited to eat at Roy's after all the hype they give it in local ads/reviews. When we got there, this particular location was nothing special.... the window view was of people's homes who lived on the hill behind the shopping complex and we were sitting so close to the tables beside us we felt like we were... more

The service person was poorly trained. He talked too much and offered too many opinions in response to questions about dishes on the menu. Had to interrupt him to remind him of our question. When drink did not arrive in a timely fashion, he blamed his busboy for the tardiness. There was another man walking around folding diners napkins and... more
