Expensive but worth it for a splurge!

Located in a golf club, not on the ocean; aside from that it was fantastic. Been there before for lunch and it was much less expensive. but being in the business, we had to try dinner. Food was very good, service was excellent and they took special care of the kids.

We went to Roy's during our stay in Maui...this was an amazing meal! I had the short ribs rubbed with mustard and my husband had the seared ahi, both were fantastic. The service and attention to detail were perfect :) The one thing that could have made it better would have been if the restaurant was on the water...it's actually... More

Love this restraunt ...great staff..made reservations and we t right in. Great food..great mixed drinks. Delicious appetizers.. it is a bit pricey..but the food drinks and desserts is worth it. The Crab cake appetizer is amazing..the Butterfish entree is delcious and the Chocolate suflee dessert is to die for...eat all that as you sip on a lychee sangria or the... More

My wife doesn't drink much, but she loves a good Lemon Drop Martini. Well, one of the bartender's that won the title of best martini did so years ago with the introduction of the Lemon Drop. We always have to stop in for one of my wife's favorites and this one is truly the best. Food is always excellent as... More

Talk about efficiency...not a wasted movement. A table is vacated....waiting is a cleaner-upper including carpet sweeping under the table....followed by fresh table setting...napkin folding...and here comes the next seating. Total elasped time for a party of 4 (in and out) 135 seconds. Our party was at table #34...which backs to the open kitchen. I had the pleasure of listening and... More

Mood of the restaurant was more like a cafeteria. The food was marginal at best. Our fish was over cooked and dry. We have been to the old Roy's before they moved to their current location and were more than happy. About 2 months ago we ate at Roy's in Pebble Beach had had a wonderful experience. Won't go back... While I have longed enjoy eating at the Roy's in Atlanta, GA and had a great experiencing dining at the Roys on the Big Island, this one falls very short. When you pay $250 for a family of four to eat dinner (excluding drinks), you expect a good meal in a pleasant surrounding. Unfortunately for us, that was not the... More

We visit Roy's every time we are in near one Hawaii. We can always count on good & unique food. Excellent customer service and worth the money. This is our "go to" place for the last night of vacation, an anniversary or other special occassion.

Instead of entrees we grazed our way through the appetisers and had a terrific meal. The wines were good although the prices for a glass is gouged compared to the bottle price. The service was ordinary, largely because we decided to choose a number of appetisers instead of entrees Pity because the bill came out a tad more with our... More

Once a trip we have to do Pu Pu's at Roy's. Grab a seat at the bar and we ordered drinks and Roy's Family Pu Pu Canoe. An assortment of Hawaiian goodies. Kim Chee, cucumber salad, lumpia (spring rolls), ribs (tad salty), delicious fish and shrimp sticks. Bar staff is friendly and I'm sure the rest of the menu is... More
