What was once one of the cutest and rustic remnants of old Maui has been transformed to modern day retail. The old Honolua store in Kapalua is now just like most ABC or Whaler's General Stores, but with a nearly complete kitchen, and an upscale wine section. The charm is gone, replaced by the "new" Maui.

Great place to grab a quick bite to eat or a sandwich to go. Take a break from the high priced resort restaurants. Burgers only $9.99 vs $24 !! Cheap good breakfasts also. Just don't plan on buying your alcohol here, poor planning on your part IF you have to by your scotch here ($45) vs Costco ($24)

This store on Office road has been completely redone in the last few years. Great breakfast and lunch. 3 piece fried chicken lunch with 2 sides was awesome and I actually made 2 lunches out of it. Service is a little slow if they are making a speciality sandwich but that's because it is made from scratch. Always visit when... More

This is a huge general store (part of the ABC chain) that sells everything from general produce, alcohol, personal needs and tourist items. It also has a takeaway food store at the back of the shop that sells a big array of burgers, etc. You order from the food counter at the back and take a buzzer that rings when... More

First visited this store 12 years ago when it was small and cozy. Returned with high hopes which were quickly dashed. Pros: beautiful setting at Kapalua, nice outdoor seating, plentiful options. Food is average. Cons: service is AWFUL. We arrived around 11:00 am. They were out of turkey and Brie sandwiches as well as French fries. The man behind the... More

Try the brown sugar latte. Very good. Keep your receipts. If they add up to $100 you get a freebie. Good sandwiches. Small grocery store.

This is the place to have very inexpensive (and delicious) breakfast with birds flying around you! You can also buy groceries, pic nic basket, wines, sodas, gifts, mosquito repellent, sunscreen... and the list goes on and on!

Easy walk, reasonable food, best for breakfast or simple lunch, hot dishes are also available. I liked their veggie sandwich, their pastrami, and eggs.

We have been to the Honolua store many times and have always looked forward to returning...not this time! We ordered hot pastrami sandwiches that were horrible. Bread was so soggy with butter not to mention the runny cole slaw dressing. What was really bad was the pastrami. It tasted old, had a refrigerator flavor and was very fatty. Needless to... More
