Humdrum restaurant in beautiful setting

Ritz-Carlton has some outstanding dining venues in its hotels. This is not one of them. It is not bad. It is just not much above average. At the prices you pay, you have a right to expect more. Angela and I used to love the Banyan Tree before it closed a few years ago, and we were glad to hear they reopened, but we were a bit skeptical that it would be as good as it was, especially given the spotty reviews on Tripadvisor. We had dinner there on Valentines Day and learned that most of the staff... More

Robert, our server, was superb. Good knowledge about their wines & menu items. The charred tuna done perfectly with great presentation. Head chef came to our table. Great ocean view & nice decor. We'll definitely be back.

We last ate here three years ago. I think it has improved since then. There are many delectable choices available presented in a very artistic fashion. My wife started with an interesting and exotic cocktail - the "thymeline". My starter was the duck buns with spiced and crispy duck in incredibly soft buns: absolutely delicious! I had medallions of lamb,... More

I recommend this restaurant most highly. Although we are not wealthy, we save up so that we can stay at excellent hotels, and dine at exceptionally good restaurants (Why go to Hawaii if you're not going to do it up right, we figure). This restaurant is one of the best of the best, in our experience. It was a great... More

This is the best dinner we had on the island. They had so many great looking apps that we decided to get 3 apps and split an entree. We tried the octopus, opakapaka cevice and kobucha bisque. All of then were amazing and really well seasoned and perfectly presented. Trip advisor indicates that the restaurant is in Lahaina, but it... More

Thanks to Chef Jonathan and outstanding service from Dustin, my wife, I and two of our best friends enjoyed one of the best meals we have ever had. Chef Jonathan offered us a 5 course meal that incorporated some of the best of what the Banyan Tree offers and we couldn't have been happier. Great meal, great setting and a... More

We are staying at the Ritz Carlton where this restaurant is and had never tried it before. We probably won't try it again. They were obviously understaffed even though it was a Saturday night and the table next to us got up and left with menus still on the table and not even water glasses present. Not sure how long... I chose the Banyan Tree Restaurant to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday and the meal and experience exceeded my expectations. Annie, the Restaurant Manager was delightful as she ensured we had a great table and a special treat to help celebrate the occasion. Robert our waiter was the absolute best. We will remember him and his level of hospitality for... More

While spending New Years at the Ritz we made reservations at the Banyan Tree for New Year's Eve dinner. We were not disappointed! The settings were a relaxed casual, soft live music, soft lights mix. Perfect for a romantic dinner or a great evening with close friends like us. The service was lovely and the food was excellent, being the... More
