Description: In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair...
In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair. Plantation workers gathered in the fields for their mid-day meal. The Japanese laborers would bring teriyaki beef with rice and pickled vegetables. Seated next to them might be their Filipino neighbors with the traditional dish adobo or perhaps a pork or chicken stew. The Koreans had their kalbi or marinated ribs and the Chinese a rice noodle and vegetable dish called chow fun. Hawaiians were known for their kalua pig, roasted in an underground oven called an imu. It wasn't long before they began to share their foods with one another and the "mixed plate" was born. Aloha Mixed Plate features true "Local" traditional plate lunches with open air seating directly on the ccean. We are open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Good hawaiian food

Ate here our first day in Hawaii. It has a good happy hour and great kahula pig sandwich. My Uncle and husband loved the ribs. The prices are some of the most reasonable you will find in the area and it's a fun spot to watch the sunset.

The Aloha Mixed Plate has surprisingly low prices for Hawaii, and especially Maui. The restaurant itself is outside with no canopy cover, and it just has a great island vibe. The hostess and bartender were very friendly, but I felt the waitresses themselves were not. I think this is a great place for cheap eats and a cool dining atmosphere.... More

We were excited to have something relatively authentic in the form of a mixed plate. However, this place isn't as great as some reviews make it out to be. Overall this resembled a tourist trap. Pros: excellent service, great view Cons: no fresh fish that day, mediocre food

The setting is lovely - right on the water. The food is reasonably priced and very good. The fish sandwich was tasty. Definitely worth a stop for a meal here.

We visited Aloha Mixed plate for breakfast one morning and several evenings for Happy Hour. The breakfast was good and the views from the tables were amazing. Happy Hour is a great deal, $1.75 Bud Light bottles!

Their Fried Rice Loko Moko is simply The Best. Rice is heavily infused with bacon and Kalua pork. You'll need to come before 11 am to get it as they only make a limited quantity. Nice location, too, with good outdoor seating and view of the water. Very reasonably priced. Good Mai Tais.

We come to Aloha Mixed Plate every time we visit Maui because the food is fantastic, reasonably priced, and authentic. I always get the Kalbi ribs, they're tender with great flavor and a generous portion. The rice and macaroni salad that come with every dish is also well made. I like the coconut shrimp because it's not overly sweet like... More
