Description: In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair....
In the early days of the sugar plantations, lunch was a simple affair. Plantation workers gathered in the fields for their mid-day meal. The Japanese laborers would bring teriyaki beef with rice and pickled vegetables. Seated next to them might be their Filipino neighbors with the traditional dish adobo or perhaps a pork or chicken stew. The Koreans had their kalbi or marinated ribs and the Chinese a rice noodle and vegetable dish called chow fun. Hawaiians were known for their kalua pig, roasted in an underground oven called an imu. It wasn't long before they began to share their foods with one another and the "mixed plate" was born. Aloha Mixed Plate features true "Local" traditional plate lunches with open air seating directly on the ccean. We are open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

We are presently eating here for the second time on our week long trip. This is the only restaurant we have retired too. The food is really good and the value is even better.

I had the "luau" plate with a little bit of everything. I was really excited for the Kahlua pork, but I hardly got any meat, it was mostly cabbage. And the Lau Lau was really fatty and not great flavor. We also got the chow funn noodles. Those were really good, but also not much meat, mostly sprouts.

Ate here last year. Came back with friends this year and was the first place we ate. All seating is outside, ocean front. Just good local food. Not tourist prices, just local good food. Have tried lots of different dishes. They've all been good. My favorites are the japanese/hawaii chicken dishes = mochiko and shoyu.

We had heard that this was a good place to eat but we were disappointed. All around unimpressive in every way.

We come here on every trip to get more of a local taste (although I'm fairly sure there are no locals). The Mac salad is really good, along with the BBQ and mixed drinks. It's very casual and perfect for kids of all ages. We ordered grilled cheese for our 3 and 6yo, it was huge! Truly we only needed... More

We had a wonderful evening meal at Aloha Mixed Plate. The parking lot was full so that is always a good sign. We asked to sit outside and they laughed. All tables are on the patio! We asked about rain and our waiter told us people sit under the umbrellas and just get a little wet, how much fun is... More

We ate here twice during our time on Maui, and weren't disappointed! I highly recommend the Kalua Pig Hash, yummy! Prices were very reasonable, and the servings were large!

When in Maui, you are hard pressed to find real Hawaiian food at affordable prices. There are many places to eat in Maui, but Aloha Mixed Plate has a great bar, a great menu with a huge selection and a nice view. Try to go before sunset and you will have an amazing sunset view with your dinner. It is... More

Simple and good food. Great Sunset. This is one of our favorite local stops for a sunset dinner without all the pretense.
