You will find this tucked away near a tattoo place and a gas station...might look "shady" but she's so warm and nice! Was chasing after the best musubi on the west side, just like others, too thick of a rice patty. Can't taste the sauce and spam anymore!

I tried local food based on the positive reviews on trip advisor. The food was good, but there was nothing that just said "wow" about it. It is a little walk up restaurant with a couple of park benches to eat outside. I had the Kalua pork and the spam musubi. It was my first time eating a spam musubi... More

Based on other Trip Advisor reviews we decided to give Local Food a shot. There are absolutely no amenities here (picnic tables on the edge of a parking lot) but if you are looking to sample some of the Hawaiian food this is the place. I had the loco moco. It is a ground beef patty with fried eggs and... More

Local Food is one of those delightful finds among the flashy food places in Lahainia. Located in a strip mall with plain sign and picnic benches we enjoyed real local food that surpassed anything else we found on Maui. I had the pulled pork and cabbage dish prepared while we waited by the owner. When we asked if we should... More

We shared a pork cabbage dish with rice and salad for $7. It was refreshing after too many Front St. restaurants that started all tasting the same! Definitely on the repeat list. Outdoor bench seating only.

Ate here while wandering around Lahaina. Large portions (my husband and I split one of the rice plates and we were both full). Have to get the Loco Moco here; only about 8$! Everyone with us enjoyed their food and had a good time sitting at the outside tables; only 2 tables out there though.

The restaurant is really small, cash only, with two picnic benches for customers to enjoy the food on site. Most of the entrees came as part of plate lunch, with rice and mac salad. We ordered all main entrees (without beef) and shared between us: Kalua Pork, Lau Lau, Shoyu Chicken. Kalua Pork had a little gamey taste that took... More

I wish there were more places like “Local Food”. This was fairly easy to find (if you are walking). The outdoor seating is extremely limited, so you may be sharing your picnic table with other people. My friend and I had the pork and cabbage, while our spouses had the Loco Moco. We all were happy with our choices, but... More

Only 3 menu choices but food is good and economically priced. Only seating is 2 picnic tables in area of parking lot so this is more of a stand than a restaurant.
