Lively place, good food

We were pleasantly surprised by the youthful active atmosphere of Captain Jacks. There are stairs on Front Street, or an elevator in the plaza to reach this restaurant across from historic Pioneer Inn and the great Banyan Tree. Its sister restaurant, Cool Cats, is on the other side of this small... read more

We were just walking front street after a whale watching trip and looking for food when we came across Captain Jacks. We checked out their menu and it looked great. We were seated quickly at a high top table and waited on by the bar tender. We had a wedge salad, fried mahi mahi sandwich and grilled fish tacos all... More

Visited Captain Jack's twice during our week-long stay. They have the best calamari and we had excellent service both times we were there. If you're looking for a great, relaxed place to eat, be sure to stop by!

A local suggested this place. SO, we went, we were seated and waited, and waited, and waited! As we were leaving I asked who was the manager - told him of the lack of service. He reseated us and started us out on a little better note. We ended up with the same poor server but the manager checked on... More

After reading the reviews we really looked forward to having a Mai Tai at Capt. Jack's. What a disappointment. No flavor, no alcohol, no cheery = no good. I've had a better Mai Tai from a Costco premix. The fish and chips were quite good. Service was almost adequate but I had to go and get my own knife and... More

There are a lot of great eateries on Front Street and Lahaina is one of our favorite places to (repeatedly) visit. While walking past this location and admiring the world's largest banyan tree on the opposite side of the street, we were given a discount card for free calamari with the purchase of two entrées (a $10 value). Since Canadians... More

We always make it a point to stop by here and have one of their Mai Tai's and enjoy the people watching. A fun place with friendly people and good food.

We ate twice at Captain Jack's while visiting Maui, thoroughly enjoyed eating good food while sitting on the upstairs deck watching the street life pass by below. We had a lunch and dinner at Jack's, both meals excellent, plentiful and served quickly with a big smile. House wines are good and there is a good selection of draft beers. Looking... More

A sister to Cool Cats, Capt. Jack's is a decent place. We've been going to Maui now for over 35 years and have seen them come and go. Have to say this place is decent and the prices aren't bad for Front Street. Little loud when the guy is playing music in the corner, might have him turn it down... More
