Nice Surprise

We had just been for a surfing lesson and were starving. The problem for us is that one of our children has a gluten and dairy allergy. We were pleasantly surprised when we found a restaurant where we could please all three kids as well as the adults.

Picked Captain Jack's Island Grill at random and were happy with our choice. Dined in the open windowed upstairs and enjoyed the breeze and atmosphere as well as the food. A loco moco is a Hawaiian creation with two fried eggs on a hamburger patty on a bed of rice with all covered in brown gravy. The gut-buster was surprisingly... More

You will find this cafe upstairs, across from the Banyan tree, on Front Street. We started with a free appetizer of kracken calamari (which was free because we had a coupon and you can find these coupons in many of the brochures and tourist booklets). I would say this is one of the most tasty dishes of calamari I had... More

Many friends ate here daily over a week and raved. We went once and the food was fine, nothing special but good quality and good value. The young lady who served us, Koina, was exceptional. She was very good at quickly guiding us to good menu choices for lunch. Keep your receipt, as they do offer 10% offer your next... More

Captain Jacks is on the second level across the street from the little park area with the awesome trees. The 2nd level gives you a nice view. They had good fish tacos and the music was really good. Tunes from new alternative to the Pixies. We were there early, around 11:00am on a Thursday. The service was excellent. We’re happy... More

Great hang out for happy hour and dinner. Right across the street from Best Western Pioneer Inn so it was really convenient. Ate here 3 times and the food was always good. Leslie was always in a good mood and that made our time very enjoyable.

Stumbled upon this place starving and looking for a cold cocktail. We sat at the bar where Henry, our fabulously entertaining bartender, served us up some of the best tasting lava flows and exotic island concoctions. Henry suggested the coconut shrimp and we all found it to be some of the best we have ever eaten. The steak wedge salad... More

I don't know what it is, but we love this place! Maybe it is the location - upstairs in Lahaina, or the open air, or the live music, or the friendly staff, or the casual vibe, or the great food...I guess it's all of that. Best mahi mahi burger in Maui, incredible (really, really incredible) fish and chips. Reasonable prices.... More

Had a chance to visit Captain Jack's twice on a recent trip to Lahaina: once for appetizers and once for lunch. The fresh Ono fish-n-Chips are the best I have ever had, bar none. I live in Seattle as well and have become a bit of a connoisseur having trip this meal at a number of local eateries. That said,... More
