Good place to eat

We ate there several times. Good food and good service. Staff is always very friendly specially the lady who brings you water as soon as you sit down. Really good poke nachos.

The nachos with fake cheese and average pork were a disappointment. The Spaghetti was okay. The Hot do was the best meal. They forgot our drinks, but the wait staff comp us so that was nice. It was really spendy for average meal.

We recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Maui and ate at Umalu's a few times during our stay, the Happy Hour Menu Is a Great Bargain for a family of 4. The Chicken tenders for the kids and sliders for the adults for $4 each, you cant beat a bargain when in Maui! The kids loved the food and I... More

Our lunch here was great...salad and sandwich were tasty. Our beverages were refilled and we were offered a cup to go at the end of our meal. We enjoyed the views of the pool and the sound of waves breaking on the nearby beach.

Can't really say much about Umalu - it's average food, overpriced but convenient if you're staying at the Hyatt and chilling out around the pool. Definitely wouldn't bother making a special trip to come here, but fine if you're at the Hyatt and looking for a quick feed.

The food here is absolutely delicious. There are a few restaurants in the Grand Hyatt but this is the only one you can go to without a reservation. Every dish I tried was fantastic. The prices are similar to other restaurants on Maui (approx $30 for a main) so nothing to complain about. Wish I had a restaurant like this... More

In the Hyatt Ka anapali by the pool is an outside eatery and has a bar between the ocean and the pool. The Mai tais are fair, the beer selection great. We ate and drank there on several occasions, for light dinner, poolside for lunch and snacks with drinks. The convenience was great as we were staying at the Hyatt.

Reliable and good food and drinks for poolside. Good size portions. Kids menu. Gluten-free items. Great drinks. I think it was great for during the day while we were poolside. I could see getting a drink in the later afternoon. But not a dinner destination.
