We walked up to the Sheraton to have dinner. Menu was limited but included most items you would expect. Service was good, not great and the food was good, not great. For the price, there are a few other better choices.

This is in the Sheraton resort, so you pay resort prices. You are better off eating in local restaurants in Lahiana if you don't mind driving 3 to 5 miles into town.

I had the Hawaiian catch (swordfish), and it was good. My wife had the New York strip, which was cooked to perfection and had a great flavor. This is pricey, so be careful when looking at the menu (which isn't exactly extensive).

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and decided to try a place that we could walk to from our hotel room. The food at the Black Rock was absolutely phenomenal. I had salmon with jasmine rice. I think it was smoked because it had been imparted with this subtle woody flavor and was cooked to perfection. My husband... More

I booked my reservation a week in advance as I wanted to have a table/reservation right after sunset as I was staying at the hotel which this restaurant was located. Normally I would eat out but decided to try Black Rock Kitchen. Overall Dinner selection was very limited and only "Fresh Catch" that was offered was Swordfish which I was... More

We stayed at the resort, so we decided to have one dinner here (we also had breakfast most days). The outside seating is very romantic in the evening. It faces a garden and the lawns of the Sheraton (not the ocean) - it's very pretty. The food is good, the staff satisfactory. I believe it might be categorized as fine... More

I found this restaurant on OpenTable's website, so I booked it for my first night. I started with their sashimi appetizer, which had four pieces of ahi sashimi, each topped with a slice of jalapeño. Quite tasty, but perhaps a bit overpriced for the portion. That was followed by their vegetarian entree, which included an assortment of roasted vegetables on... More

A note: food on Maui, particularly in upper level hotel restaurants is expensive to very expensive.. Dinner with a couple of glasses of wine climbs over $100 without tip easily. Our experience was that food in better restaurants away from Kaanapali is less expensive but that cheap food, other than mainland-familiar fast food or hole-in-the-wall mixed plate places, is not...
