Worth the jaunt up the volcano to the little town of Kula. Don't blink or you'll miss this old establishment. Nice people working and the patrons. Can get busy, but they seem to accommodate. I had the fruit waffle (excellent), others in the group had baked goods with most excellent coffee. Tasty treats and good food. Highly recommend if you... More

Stopped by for a lunch after our visit to the winery upcountry. Small, kind of out of the way. Fantastic food. We had sandwiches and a muffin made with all local ingredients. All of their baked goods looked mouth watering. many locals dine there. Definitely worth a stop if you visit upcountry.

After seeing the stunning (but freezing) sunrise at Haleakala, we were hungry and ready for a warm up with coffee. I had remembered hearing about this place on TripAdvisor, and we decided to go before hitting up Tedeschi Vineyards. We were clearly tourists, and it seemed like a few others were tourists as well, but the majority of customers at... More

For past few years, we've been taking a cooking class from Chef Kilo up/down? the hill in Kula, and when after the long day we mentioned we wanted coffee, she recommended that we go to Grandmas and said it was really good. So went went, was actually just a few minutes drive from where we were... Grandmas is just this... More

While we were tourists, other diners appeared to be locals or perhaps people who spend a lot of time in Hawaii. The food was very good. The patio is lovely. During our December visit we could see, down the street, a wild poinsettia plant. Even more remarkable - a "flock" of butterflies (they looked like monarchs) were playing on the... More

My wife and I both had the eggs Benedict and sat out on the lanai while the sauna no misty rain conspired to treat us to a rainbow. Very good food, interesting clientele. Would recommend highly.

We stopped here on the way to Haleakala and had a delightful breakfast. The coffee is delicious, and there are plenty of options for food. I loved the "bulls eye" breakfast which has two fried eggs on corned beef hash, plus rice and sliced spam, all drizzled with ketchup. It was awesome! The omlettes were decent - and both were... We drove here after visiting the Kula Botanical Garden close by. I read it about in tour books and also on Trip Advisor. Very small place where a lot of the locals come. Their desserts looked great. We each had a piece of their pineapple/banana cake. Wow - what flavor and so moist. They have a small balcony that you... More
