Randomly stopped here on the way down from Haleakala after buying a few Protea blooms at a nearby stand. Had a very nice light lunch. Not super portions but the sandwiches were tasty (had a pork and mahi mahi), served with crispy coleslaw and a little island fruit. Limited selection of wine and beer. Beautiful views down over the valleys.... more

The Kula Sandalwoods restaurant sits right next to the highway on the upper Kula road. The cafe looks out over the down country part of Maui. The view extends across the mid-part of the Island from Kahului to Kihei. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They provide prompt and courteous service and don't hover around the customers. The food... more

We found this restaurant by chance after visiting Haleakala. It was a cozy, intimate place with glass walls to enjoy the awesome vista. It has a beautiful garden adding to the romantic ambience. We intended to just have some coffee but ended up also ordering some appetizers and cocktails which were good. Too bad we already made dinner plans otherwise... more

February 7, 2008 We decided to make a day of it and discover Haleakala National Park. We found a nice little cafe on the way up to the volcano and decided to stop for breakfast. What a nice find. The morning was chilly, but to my surprise, there was a warm fire burning in the cafe's wood burning stove. The... more

We went for lunch and the view. The view was great and the service was lovely. You can tell this is a family run business. There is very little on the lunch menu for vegetarians - a grilled cheese sandwich would have been it. However, that day they also had veggie burgers. My husband had the steak sandwich and said... more

This place is worth a stop if you are in the area. We came here for a late lunch on our way to Haleakala. The sandwiches were on homeade focaccia bread and were good. The soup was good as well.Prices are reasonable. Dining outside on the wide deck overlooking the nice landscaping was very enjoyable. more

By far and away the best eggs benedict ever. The hollandise sauce is light with a soft touch of lemon. The coffee is terrific and the service is friendly and comfortable, just like being at a friend's home. Views are outstanding from the dining terrace. more

Had a delicious lunch at the quiet Sandalwoods mid-April 2005 following our Haleakala visit. Beautiful flowers & flowering trees on the grounds. Kula is still a few thousand feet above sea level so air was nice and cool. We ate outside on the wide veranda and watched the cycling tours go by. Menu was small but everything we ordered was... more
