Description: When you come on up to visit us at Ulupalakua, you'll find it's not just...
When you come on up to visit us at Ulupalakua, you'll find it's not just about the drive. These days, it's about the food. "We're becoming a food destination," says Will Munder, Executive Chef of Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill. Mosey up to the counter, and you'll still find all the classic Ranch favorites, but the good stuff just got better. Now everything is made from scratch and as local as we can get it. The Ulupalakua lamb, beef and famous elk are part of our commitment to serve only meat from the Ranch or from Maui. And thanks to Upcountry's abundance. The bustling Grill gets crates of fresh local lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, pineapple, herbs and more, every morning. Reminders of times gone by are everywhere inside the Ulupalakua Store, from the sepia-toned photos on the walls to the cowboy hats on the shelves. The Store is a happy place of simple things, good things. Our motto here at Ulupalakua Ranch is: "Happy People." Plain and simple.

My husband had the elk burger and he enjoyed it very much. I had a sandwich from the cold deli. As I was eating my sandwich I noticed something black inside. It was a large fly. So gross. I showed the staff. They felt very bad and offered to make me something else. I will not eat at this place... More

We stumbled on this store with a deli in back and had one of the best lunches of our trip. This is ranch country on Maui and the menu reflects it - locally raised elk, beef and lamb as well as fresh veggies and some fish. I had the elk burger platter and my husband had lamb burger platter with... More

Thank you Chef Will for the delicious Maui Cattle Company Cheeseburgers! They were the best burgers we have eaten! Keep up the great job!

This is a beautiful (but windy) drive along the slopes of Haleakala (You end up exactly in line with Molikini) This ranch has a really cute gift shop and great food. You order inside and then they cook it out on the bbq. We had Hawaiian plates which were very good. Winery across the road is worth a visit too.

Recommended by the winery, so we headed there after the wine tasting. We split an elk burger and chips. The burger was good and used the BBQ sauce (on the table) to dip it in. Its a clean and nice area to sit with the family to eat and breath in the fresh air. Another group happen to see some... More

If you can make it to this store, then you are in for a treat! It was like a mini Road to Hana to get there, I told my husband. Luckily, the people answering the phones are very nice and understanding. We were doing an Upcountry day and during my research I read I had to come here for the... More

We stumbled upon this great gem as we made or way to the winery (just across the street)! We ordered the elk and the lamb burgers and they were simply delicious! Sit outside and walk around the quaint little general store!

If you want a great burger stop by. The dining is rustic (self service and outside) but he food is worth it. Make sure you look at the general store!

This is one of our favorite stores on Maui..really quaint and provides you with the upcountry, relaxed, rural vibe. They serve local elk and grass fed burger from Maui cattle company. Toppings and presentation is pretty bland but it's totally worth it to grab a quick bite and sit at one of the picnic tables and enjoy the view! I... More

This is one of our favorite stores on Maui. We also enjoy the local elk and grass fed beef hamburgers from Maui Cattle Company. A great place to visit when the beach resorts are so much cookie cutter places. This store and setting offer an authentic piece of the rural Paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) lifestyle and culture.
