When you come on up to visit us at Ulupalakua, you'll find it's not just about the drive. These days, it's about the food. "We're becoming a food destination," says Will Munder, Executive Chef of Ulupalakua Ranch Store & Grill. Mosey up to the counter, and you'll still find all the classic Ranch favorites, but the good stuff just got better. Now everything is made from scratch and as local as we can get it. The Ulupalakua lamb, beef and famous elk are part of our commitment to serve only meat from the Ranch or from Maui. And thanks to Upcountry's abundance. The bustling Grill gets crates of fresh local lettuce, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, pineapple, herbs and more, every morning. Reminders of times gone by are everywhere inside the Ulupalakua Store, from the sepia-toned photos on the walls to the cowboy hats on the shelves. The Store is a happy place of simple things, good things. Our motto here at Ulupalakua Ranch is: "Happy People." Plain and simple.

Nice stop on way back from Hana

Has a variety of sandwiches, all well done. Store also has nice drinks. There are also knick-knacks for sale. The front porch sports interesting and humorous sculptures of people, so you might sit on a bench next to a sculpture of a cowboy. Plenty of outdoor seating. Right off the orad and easy... read more

Great little store to browse in and see some country and cowboy things. If, you are hungry they have a little deli. I thought was a little pricey though.

Stopped here on our way back from Hana, and we were pleasantly surprised with our delicious meals. It's run by five cattle ranchers and all of the beef is fresh. Makes for an amazing burger!

We stopped here before heading across the street. The burgers were very good. Ordered our burgers and sat outside and enjoyed the views.

We were on Maui for two weeks and this was one of our favourite meals if not the favourite meal of our time there. It was authentic, fresh and Ono! We loved the vibe of the place and the cute store as well. A good trip up to the vineyard followed by lunch at the store. A wee tip we... More

Stellar, super-fresh burger in the "middle of nowhere" Maui. Go HERE for a casual, no-fuss, outdoor picnic-style-seating lunch for a GREAT burger, cold coke or beer, and shop for a quirky souvenir from your travels. Cheap eats! And oh yeah, there's a winery directly across the street. :)

I wandered in for lunch because the smoke wafting from their grill smelled incredible. I asked the handsome guy behind the counter (Will, who I learned later is their Executive Chef) what was best and he suggested Kalbi beef ribs with Miso sauce. Wow, what an amazing combination. I loved it. If you find yourself at the end of the... More

Had a nice stop at the Ulupalakua Ranch Store and Grill with the family. Wife and I had the Elk Burger and a Axis Deer Burger. The kids had the Chili Rice Bowl and a Hot Dog. The burgers were great, juicy, loaded with onions! The chili was incredible - almost all quality tender beef with just enough rice and... More

Stopped here on our visit to the Maui winery which is located across the street. This is an easy 30 minute drive from the airport. You order you burgers and they cook them on the side porch. The food was very good and the general store had plenty of other stuff to seen and buy.
