We ate at this one and also the one in Waikiki. Their food is excellent and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
Four of us dropped in to Sansei about 7:00 on a Monday night, our last night in Kihei, and found a .....LINEUP! We decided to look elsewhere, but after a bit of a wander, said 'what the heck' and waited for a spot. It was well worth the wait. Two of us had appies, and two full meals. All of... More
At first the menu at Sansei is a bit intimidating, but although it is very extensive, it is primarily based on fresh fish and can be broken down into sushi/sashimi, specials, appetizers and entrees. Our waiter left us lots of time to review the menu and didn't put us under any pressure, which was nice. We mixed sushi with a... More
This place has such good food. Chef is very creative and puts things together i would never think of. Gets crowded so go early. Also they seem to have specials if you are there early too. Atmosphere is nothing special but the food more then makes up for it!!
The food here is so delicious. The presentation of some of the dishes, as well, is amazing. Our server, Gwen, was so incredible she left our table speechless. I have a big family who all tend to be a bit needy, but for Gwen this was no problem. We never saw her sweat! She is such an asset to this... More
My wife and I both agree: Food is amazing; service was crappy. We're not the type to complain about the little things, but the service there is horrible. The four star rating I'm giving is based on the quality of the food.

The special house roll was nothing special, the "award winning" dynamite shrimp were no better than I've had in an average bar/grill. Don't get me wrong, it was perfectly... More
My family and I love this sushi bar. It offers an impressive selection of fresh sushi with an imaginative presentation. Don't overlook the house specials, especially the appetisers. There is also an impressive Saki menu and the servers new their stuff when making recommendations. The place is busy, but service is efficient and friendly. The prices make this place a... More
This was a family dinner. The service was excellent and the cost was reasonable for a higher end restaurant. I found that the presentation on my meal could have been better and the size of the portions were just a little bit small. Other than that it was a very good experience.
This was our first time to Maui and decided to try out this place as our friend recommended it. We got there right at 5:30pm when they opened and there was about 10 people already waiting to get in. We were seated quickly. Great service and casual atmosphere. I had the grilled lobster special which I would have to say... More
