The restaurant had potential as far as the interior but the food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. Staff was more interested in talking to each other than taking care of guests. We waited forever to be greeted, served, and given a check. Waste of money and time. more

This restaurant looks expensive, but it is very reasonable. Most main dishes are $10 with very generous portions. There is NO MSG used in the food. We visit here every year when we vacation in Maui. My wife and I went there on June 11, 2009. We split an order of pineapple and crab meat fried rice. The dish was really good. It didn't even need any soy sauce. My husband and I enjoy frequenting East Ocean. We usually order the spinach and garlic, fried chicken wings, spicy beans and pork and/or house noodles. Prices were reasonable ($10-20/entree) and I really liked the atmosphere - large, clean, and lovely decor.
