Went here for a much highly anticipated dinner and was kind of disappointed. I am not a sushi snob by any means. I have only been to a hand full of high end sushi place. My favorite places includes: oshima (OC), nobu, and sasa bune. I know there are different levels if sushi (ACYE, avg sushi, high end, etc) and... More

The sushi is fresh, and the service is excellent. Make sure you make a reservation. A little mom and pop joint, but a gem. Order the Omakase.

The sushi quality was superb. The intimate sushi bar is such a delight and the husband and wife team that run Kioso are wonderful people. We had dinner at Sansei the following night and the sushi was a joke compared to Kioso. If you want the real deal on Maui, Kioso is your best bet.

Fantastic little restaurant, seating for 12 at the sushi bar and a table that seats 4. We had some pretty good sushi all over the place but read the reviews and had to try this place. We were lucky enough to get a spot on a Friday night in time for the last serving of the evening at 9pm. We... More

Restraining myself from going overboard - this is a world class sushi. There were too many of us, so we had to split in two groups of 6, on different days. Both groups were in awe of the quality of food. Please pay no mind to laughable complaints at "unfriendliness", or "rudeness" - nothing could be further from the truth.... More

I live in LA. That means I have access to some of the best sushi places in the country, if not the world, on an everyday basis. And I've eaten at most of them. NONE of them approaches what I experienced at Koiso. This is authentic sushi at its absolute best -- and you are reading this from a food... More

By far the best sushi my husband and I have every had the fortune of eating. Koisi is a little hole-in-the-wall at the corner of a strip mall and the ambiance is utilitarian at best. However, once you sit down, say hello to the owner/sushi master and put in our order all of that becomes irrelevant. We asked the owner... More

The BEST sushi - that's why you are here. Forget the atmosphere, because this is a dive place in a divey strip mall. It is difficult to find so go to the complete end of the shops and walk in the center to find the place. Be sure to book in advance as they will not accept walk-ins. Also, be... More

We saw this place on Tripadvisor and made the reservation a couple of weeks ahead. This is a small 16 seater in a local shopping mall and very unassuming. The owner/chef was really nice and greeted us right away. The waitress, we assume was his wife, was a little overwhelmed when we were first seated. We all ordered the chef's... More
