Reluctant to write a review because it takes reserving weeks ahead before your visit to get a reservation but it is worth it. Outstanding fish and service, definitely pricey but we think, worth it.

May be one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever been to. It is a really small restaurant so make your reservations early, maybe even weeks before your trip! I'm not joking, quite a few disappointed people were turned away at the door. The atmosphere was relaxed and intimate. We sat at the bar and enjoyed talking to everyone else... More

Hard to get into, very small. Be patient and keep trying, usually best around 5:30 or whenever opening time is. The guy is a master.

The reason to go to Koiso: the fish is extremely fresh. My husband had the sashimi special, and I the sushi omasake. I would have liked it better if the chef changed up the assortment, that is, every sushi assortment ordered was the same 12 pieces that night unless you told him, for example, that you don't want squid. We... More

Visited the area for a couple of days and Was fortunate enough to get a last minute reservation, ended up having one of the best sushi in my life, better than the sushi i had at the tsukiji fish market in japan. The owner really has a passion for his job it seems.

The fish was good and very fresh but there menu was very limited and was it ever expensive. we spent $80.00 and went back to our hotel to eat more food. If you have lots of money and want to eat really fresh fish this is the place for you. But if you have a hard time spending so much... More

Went here for a much highly anticipated dinner and was kind of disappointed. I am not a sushi snob by any means. I have only been to a hand full of high end sushi place. My favorite places includes: oshima (OC), nobu, and sasa bune. I know there are different levels if sushi (ACYE, avg sushi, high end, etc) and... More

The sushi is fresh, and the service is excellent. Make sure you make a reservation. A little mom and pop joint, but a gem. Order the Omakase.

The sushi quality was superb. The intimate sushi bar is such a delight and the husband and wife team that run Kioso are wonderful people. We had dinner at Sansei the following night and the sushi was a joke compared to Kioso. If you want the real deal on Maui, Kioso is your best bet.
